Long John Silver's — Restaurant in Stockton

Update: Monday, March 18, 2024, p.m. I’m pretty much done with trying to get long John silvers to work for me. I’ve had really good meals and really not a good meals…like tonight. To get anything cooked fresh you have to ask. I asked tonight, specifically, that I wanted both the chicken and the fish cooked fresh. Well, the fish appeared to be fresh. It was quite hot! As the way it should be. The chicken…a different story. Nowhere near fresh. Just barely warm. I was not happy so I took my plate back up and ask them to cook me four pieces of chicken HOT and FRESH. As I watched, she Attempted to take already fried pieces of chicken and put them back in the oil to “heat them up”! Obviously, she didn’t know much about cooking because when you do that they get really oily and gross. So I called her on it and said no I want them dropped fresh! She did. They came out really crappy. Dry and tough. Overcooked! Seems like she had an attitude from the time she took our order to the time I approached her about my food. I was not happy with the experience. It will be a long time till I return. My son and I paid over $40 for the two combination plates and drinks! For that price I want decent food. Not stuff that’s been cooked twice in the grease! ———————- Update: Tuesday, February 6, 2024 PM LJS did a great job tonight. It really helps to go when they’re busy to get fresh and hot food! Although I did ask at the register that my food be cooked to order. But I think they were so busy it was all fresh! I had the fish and chicken platter with green beans. Yes, it was a bit greasy but I knew that so that was not an issue. The hush puppies were hot fresh and crunchy. I’m gonna have to bump up my star rating. I had a bad experience last time so it will go from one star to four stars. What issue… The tartar sauce need some TLC. I don’t know what they make it out of but it’s just a white sauce like tartar flavor mayonnaise. It should have some really mixed in with it. Kudos LJS!

—————————— Update: Thursday, December 14, 2023 PM Probably the worst meal I’ve had at Long John Silver’s. We ordered the combination platters. I had fish and chicken. I asked for my dinner to be hot and dropped fresh to order. None of it was. It was all barely warm. Unacceptable. I’m not sure I will ever come back here. When I pay good money for my food I want it made fresh, not something that’s been sitting under a warming light for 15 minutes. Fail‼️ Both the chicken and the fish pieces are getting quite small. And the price is going up. The combination plates are over $14‼️👎🏻 —————

3/29/22 Went there last night for dinner. Hand scribbled sign on the door said the dining room was closed due to lack of staff. Went through the drive-through to order food. By the time you get home the food is mediocre warm. I had leftovers that I was going to eat tonight. I could not bear to eat the greasy excess batter. I peeled it off. It was twice as much batter as there was fish and chicken!! Insane. What a gimmick/rip off. I posted a photo of the plate. Check it out.

……………………… I went here tonight because of the coupon I received in the email today. Eight pieces of fish and/or chicken for $8.88. That’s a pretty good deal. I know that my food is going to be greasy. But I need my grease at least once a month. :-)

I also ordered eight shrimp for seven dollars. And a small coleslaw which was really tiny. I was almost embarrassed for Long John Silver’s serving such a small portion. I enjoy the fish and chicken infrequently. The shrimp are also pretty good. Nothing outstanding about the coleslaw. You can have as much tartar and cocktail sauce as you like. Their dining room is now open! Almost seems...

Went to long john silver's on Wilson way & minor. Drive thru order, the drive thru line was long and moving extra slow. After I got my order and pulled away, I checked my order and they forgot my fries. Ok, mistakes happen so I called the number on the receipt. When I explained that they forgot my fries, the little punk hung up on me. I tried calling back and no answer. Went to the front door, it was locked so I knocked on it, another guy was there because they forgot his cheesecake. He went to the side window, got peoples attention but they still wouldn't come to the door. After about 5 minutes or so, we started banging on the window and door until they opened the front door. He gave us an attitude like we were bothering him. Clearly he didnt want to be working there. Making a mistake by forgetting my fries was easily forgivable but hanging up on me is totally and completely unacceptable. One star because of customer service or lack of. The food is only 2 - 3 stars at most. Five star burger on El Dorado has the best fish & chips in town, (that I know of). Its worth driving an extra...

New young boy working register today... Name was Mickey. Very polite, repeated order back. Nice visit and nice employee. PREVIOUS POST ABOVE WAS A 5 STAR RATING! UPDATED REVIEW FROM OUR VISIT TODAY 10/5/23 AT 2:36PM...WE HAVE NOT BEEN HERE FOR ALMOST 4 YEARS. ITS 90+ DEGREES OUT. NO ICE FOR SODA AND NO MENTION OF IT. TOOK IT BACK UP AND THEY GOT ICE FROM THE BACK. FISH IS NOT THE SAME, SMALLER AND OVERCOOKED AND STRANGELY DRY. CHICKEN WAS SOMEHOW FREEZER BURNT ON THE INSIDE AND SLIGHTLY OVER COOKED IN THE DEEP FRYER. NO HAND SOAP IN THE WOMENS BATHROOM WHICH I MENTIONED PRIOR TO EATING MY GROSS LUNCH, NOT FILLED AFTER I WAS DONE AND WENT TO WASH MY HANDS.
