Well, technically we didn't eat here. The Sonic Drive-in I go to in the Trinity Park West. I've avoided this one because of the shooting in that parking lot right after opening. But let's get to the situation. First off, we parked near the speaker menu area pushed the order button and waited. A minute or two later an employee informs me only the drive thru is open... Okay, go into the drive thru and the employee is having trouble taking the single order in from of me. Yes I could hear their conversation as she struggled. I figured she was new. I went for the smash burger with my son. Finally get to the mix to order and she's says you can't order the smash burger by itself because it is a promotion. I just got off the app to see the menu the price point was showing on google, between 6-7 without taxes. I see the screen go crazy then adding up weird. The meal is $10.99. As she directs me it's okay to pull forward I noticed I was being charged $9.76 per burger. (Scammed is what I was thinking) Over $20 for two smash burgers. And at first I am okay with it, but I'm hungry and we've been waiting for a while, still for the vehicle in front of us. After 5 extra minutes I debated and then confirmed with my son if he didn't mind not getting the burgers. He said it was up to me. We sat for another 5 minutes and the single car in front of us was still at the pickup window. As much as my mouth was watering for that burger and my stomach was rumbling I pulled away. Yes, I felt guilty and my son even was scared and asked it was legal. I honestly don't know. But I wasn't about to eat that burger after all that. I did forget to mention that as she (tried to figure out how charge the burgers as single, because she stated it was a limited promotion), I just had a weird feeling and as I retired chef I have huge issues about people with my food. Also, $20 dollar for two smash burgers when you can go to Chili's and get a burger, fries, salsa and chips, soup or salad and a drink for $10.99 tax and tip. And technically were I originally wanted to go, but a Sonic commercial that morning made me change my mind. Which I regretted because we ended up going home to eat. Which is sad, because I have plenty of good memories of the Trinity...
Read moreWORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! When I arrived there was only 2 parked cars in the drive and park order area and no cars in the drive thru. I pulled into the drive thru and it took and waited almost 5 mins, every minute or two I would say “hello”. Right as I was driving away a woman asked to take my order. I then began to order and she replied with a rude and dry tone. I then pulled up to the window and she first said $13.04. I gave her a $20 bill, that she snatched and slightly pinched my finger. She then gave me my box of food, drink and $3. Then closed the window and walked away. Now I’m not a mathematician but obviously the change was wrong. I then waited for her to come back and she opened the window and stared at me blankly with attitude waiting for me to say something. I then asked for ketchup and a receipt (just in case I heard my total wrong). She then said ketchups in the box, closed the window and opened the register (almost like she knew she shorted me my change). She then printed out a receipt and gave me my remains change. No sorry or thanks for coming. Just hands me the change, rolls her eyes and walks away. I wonder how many other customers she’s shorted and given...
Read moreI’m giving this Sonic location one star due to a frustrating and disappointing experience. They have a sign on their window advertising a weekly special for buy-one-get-one-free cheeseburgers on Sundays, but the way they handle it is ridiculous.
I didn’t notice we were charged full price until after we paid, so I brought it up to the cashier. Instead of addressing the issue, they told me the discount only applies if the customer mentions it beforehand. Apparently, this is how their manager tells them to operate. If that’s the case, what’s the point of having the deal advertised? It feels deceptive.
The service throughout the visit was just as bad. From the standoffish tone during the speaker order to the dismissive attitude at the window, the entire experience left a sour taste in my mouth. This Sonic location doesn’t seem to care about their customers or providing good service. I won’t be...
