Del Buono's Bakery and Carmen’s Deli — Restaurant in Stratford

I'm livid! I'm at our store working, and I get a call from my wife, informing me that there was a man employee giving her a hard time, all because she didn't want our bread cut. I immediately leave and arrive to Carmens and just hang back and observe how she(we) were being treated. The woman behind the food counter was nice and she tried her best to smooth things. However, the gentleman behind the counter was being extremely passive aggressive. He even litterally had the audacity to ask my wife why she needed more ketchup and that it was some on the roll already. We are patrons here pretty often, spending 60-100 bucks an order, and yet we were treated like we were asking for hand-outs. To top it off, the cheesesteaks were wet and the bread became extremely soggy. I can't begin to tell you how disappointed I am. Gross customer service, gross steaks; sincerely debating if I want to...

I had more bread than anything... This location seems to really, really cut back on the meats. In addition there was a missed side dish. I'd have to second the stingy comment. Such a shame I grew up with Carmen's and their hoagie's were famous.

Edit: The middle and right picture are from our visit today. We were in contact with Jane and she was very adamant that last time was far from the experience they aim for. She offered to have our next meal on them and it would get corrected. Needless the say this is what I expect from Carmen's and I hope the picture to the left never happens again.

I have been going to Carmens since 1983. My kids grew up on their hoagies. I was excited when the Stratford store opened however I have been disappointed in their hoagies over and over. I keep trying but the time has come to stop going. It seems like the people taking orders don’t want to be there and their hoagies are now just bread with very little meat. They are nothing like they used to be. I used to brag about Carmens and have brought them business for years. I will keep trying the original store to see how that goes and I am hoping for the best.
