Nothing special. We finally found time to have breakfast here, we have wanted to go for a long time and it always looked packed with people so today we were going no matter what. They offer a nice variety of items on the menu. The staff is very kind. Place is smaller but clean. I tried a half order of a combo breakfast that came with eggs, bacon and french toast. The husband got his as a full order with hotcakes. We ordered an extra side of sausage and a small order of biscuits and gravy to try.
It was ok. Nothing was spectacular though and we were disappointed for $35. The bacon was thin, light on flavor and similar to Oscar Myers, the sausage was boring. Not seared, no crust like you expect from a diner. The french toast was just french toast and the hotcakes were just hotcakes. Both were fluffy but nothing special. Maybe if we got some of the toppings they would be better but you can't get a true measure of the quality if it is covered with goo. As for the biscuits and gravy....well... again, nothing special. A little on the paste side, not a lot of flavor, pretty boring and bland.
This isn't a great place for us but people in the area seem to love it. It is a warm environment and nice people. If you want a simple basic breakfast then maybe you will like it. I wish they had more passion with the food. We...
Read moreVery bright and open seating concept, with a seats at a counter as well. Our server Carter was attentive and funny. She played along with my jokey style that I like to drop on occasion. Breakfast was ordered by myself and my neice. The hash wasn't homemade as Carter admitted while scribbling our selections on her pad, but she insisted that it was still worth getting. I am a sausage gravy buff, so I couldn't resist getting a cup of it on the side to ladle upon the home fries. My 3 over easy egs were perfect, the hash was crispy all arond the outside and soft in the center. The thickly sliced (not cubed) were perfect as well. Seasoned with again, a perfect balance of well done and "just right" textures. The spoonfuls of delicious sausage gravy over the top on the plentiful portion made it so that you just kept making the "yummy grunts" after each bite. My neice ordered soft scrambled with sausage and wheat toast. Two grilled sausage patties flanked the cooked-to-order scrambled eggs. Soft scrambled in particular often gets lost in translation of the shuffle. Not here. The cooks got it right. They got it all right. I am ruined for breakfast now, anywhere else whenever I visit Streetsboro in the future, and I am...
Read morefirst off I would like to point out that I HATE sausage gravy. everywhere I've ever had it it was terrible. I wanted to give this gravy a try and it was as if that gravy was giving my soul a bear hug. it was so good especially on top of that crispy deliciousness that is chicken fried steak. the place was HOPPING, line out the door busy, but this did not take away from the fantastic service we had. my husband and I fancy ourselves as foodies. when we try somewhere new we order multiple items from the menu, and whatever we haven't stuffed in our fat faces gets taken home for later. the waffles, eggs Benedict, eggs, toast and POTATOES were all on point. I would have to say the most disappointing food we had on our visit was the cornbeef hash. it had the texture and smell (and I'm assuming taste) of my cat's can of friskies. if you enjoy a good cornbeef hash, do not order it here. I've never tasted catfood but I imagine my cat's seafood and gravy could be the same as the cornbeef hash, just with different packaging. all and all fantastic experience, and I'll know what to order...
