Went out to dinner for a date night with my husband, stepdaughter, and her fiancé to celebrate their recent engagement. Had seen the many positive reviews about Wild Eagle, so thought it would be a fun place to enjoy some great food. The atmosphere was indeed fun, and our server was friendly and attentive for the most part. The food was another story, unfortunately. Three out of the four of us ordered steak (prime rib, NY Strip, and filet mignon). While my stepdaughter’s fish and chips were great, and my husband enjoyed his prime rib, her fiancé’s strip steak and my filet were served on the cooler side. He rationalized that his was okay because he had ordered it medium rare. Mine was ordered medium well (as well as butterflied) and was served cold alongside a room-temperature baked potato. The potato is actually what tipped me off, as usually you can’t grab a hot baked potato comfortably bare-handed. The plate wasn’t hot as if it had been sitting under a warmer (the server had warned my husband to be careful, as his plate was hot), and my first bite of steak revealed it to be room temperature too. It had taken a long time for our food to be served, so apparently my dish was cooling off on a counter somewhere while they worked on the rest of the order. Server asked how everything was, and I explained about my food being cool to the touch. She went in search of the manager, stopping back once to apologize because she was having a hard time finding the manager. The rest of my party was halfway through their meals by the time the manager was available, but I agreed to a replacement filet and baked potato. The server brought the replacement filet out fairly quickly, which although it looked freshly seared, it was still on the cool side and now tasted like bbq sauce, and she apologized because they had run out of baked potatoes. Fries were offered, but I passed on them because my steak would be as cold as the first one by the time fries were made. I ate two-thirds of my steak because I didn’t want to be a complete witch about it. I am regretting that decision as I have made 3 urgent trips to the bathroom tonight, and am awake again at 5am. Very disappointing, especially given the price point of the food (filet was $30). The worst part is that I’m Serv-Safe certified, so I know the dangers of eating food served at unsafe temperatures, but I did it anyway because I don’t want to be labeled that kind of a “Karen”. I just wanted to warn people to be vigilant when dining here, and urge people to not eat off-temperature food if they are served it. On the positive side, the...
Read moreFirst off, i go to restaurants for the food. That is why my overall rating doesn't reflect the service and atmosphere. That being said, let me tell you about my food tonight.
I came in with family, remembering how good it was not long ago. Unfortunately, it did not live up to expectations.
My steak was unseasoned and cold. My shrimp was slightly burnt on one side, but the burnt taste was too overwhelming. I couldn't even tell if the shrimp had their own seasoning.
My mother's steak was supposed to be medium but came out rare, bland, and cold.
My stepfathers coleslaw was warmer than the rest of his food, which was dried out.
All of our cornbread was also cold.
My brothers smash burger was room temperature. He has no sense of taste so he couldn't comment about that.
The salad was fresh, the broccoli was pretty good. Despite the cornbread being cold, it was delicious. So there were a few positives to the night.
But it was a disappointment that I had to take my cold tasteless steak home so I could season it and warm it up. Still, it won't compare to a freshly cooked properly seasoned steak from somewhere else.
And let's talk about the steaks. My mom and I had the sirloin. My mom's was flat, thin, and looked like a steak. Mine was chunky and thick, like I was eating an entirely different cut or the cow's tongue. The server said it was due to their weight. Sure, fine, but don't serve two different looking steaks that are supposed to be the same cut to the same table. And again, hers was bloody rare when it was supposed to be medium, and hers was the thinner of the 2 steaks.
I didn't want to make a fuss, but it was supposed to be a small celebration for my 45th birthday and I remembered that the food was much better here the last time I came. It was a huge disappointment.
I'm not asking for anything except that they do something about their food quality. If they can't have decent staff in the kitchen, they shouldn't remain open as a business.
At the prices they charge, we should have had hot food, seasoned steaks, and consistency. I saw no quality control.
I will not be going back in the near future and we will not be recommending it to...
Read moreAte there for the first time today. First impressions - I like the open atmosphere and the amount of activities that can be done. They provide cornhole, giant Jenga, and several arcade games. They have a decent menu for different appetites. The giant pretzel for an appetizer was the best I've ever had. Excellent cheese and mustard that came with it. Not quite as big as Twisted Melt in Kent but unlike like Twisted Melt it wasn't overcooked and rock hard. It was flaky buttery salty absolutely delicious! Fries where good and cornbread was spot on.
I'm giving them two stars because the quality of the food just didn't do it for me.. I could tell a lot of the food was frozen and/or microwaved. Got a burger and when I asked for it to be well done she gave me a funny look and I realized that's because they microwave the frozen patty. it's not I would assume fresh. Both the wife and I had stomach aches after a few hours. My toddler's mac and cheese was literally kraft from the box.
TOOK FOREVER to get the food waited at least an hour. this was a Sunday afternoon and they were very few people there. It wasn't like they were swamped. Waitress only came by once to see if we needed anything. Again it's not like they were super busy I would say 1/8 of the restaurant was filled up. Trying to get the bill was also difficult for some reason? Asked the waitress twice to get the bill for us. Saw her walk over to sit down with her co-workers and chit chat instead of getting us our bill. My tired two year old was not amused. I felt like they waited so long to get their food so that you would spend money on the activities that they had. I also felt like this was more of a bar that served food. Meaning if you're going for drinks and some appetizers it's a great place. Hanging out with friends this is a place to be especially in Streetsboro when there's really not much going on concerning good restaurants or activities. But the food could be a little bit on the fresher side. I'm not saying I'll never go back and try something different but there are so many other...
