Horrible management.
I absolutely believe that most of these reviews are bought, fake or made by staff or their friends.
Mirror fell on me because it was not attached to the wall. Manager/Owner (not sure who he was) refused to help or refund at least part of our stay. We asked the man at the front desk if we could get a refund and he said yes. We were supposed to get a $150 refund (one for a deposit that was supposed to be given back at the end of the stay and $100 for having a massive mirror fall on my head). We received two refunds, the initial $50 deposit and a $50 refund without any explanation. Absolutely not okay and extremely dangerous. If I wasn't able do duck ever so slightly away from the mirror, I would have been at the hospital next door getting glass taken out of my head and face.
We are STILL owed $50 and will be reporting this and the owner to corporate as this is a franchise.
Breakfast was awful, warm drink machine, dirty waffle making station (you get to make your own waffles...), when the small yogurts ran out, water bottles replaced them. When the ripe fruit was gone, rotting fruit was put out, gnats surrounding it. Everything not carpeted, including the lobby was very, very sticky. So much so you could hear your shoes peeling off of the floor with every step.
We had to unplug the phone because we got a robo-call every night from nowhere on the hotel phone so we had to unplug that and keep it unplugged (unusable) and the fire alarms went off each night we were there (apparently people were smoking too close to the fire alarm on the first floor is what one staff member said to me).
The bed was comfortable. Quiet guests and a washing machine that worked. No bugs. Whole staff minus the man at the counter who told us we'd get a $100 refund for the mirror incident had such a large language barrier nothing guests had concerns about were taken seriously. We ended up leaving and staying at a better Quality Inn. Very bad experience with horrible help minus the one man at the desk I mentioned.
They are hoping we forgot about this and the lesser refund. We have not as my head still hurts/has a massive bump, but we will not forget and will take this to corporate, as stated above.
Pictures show the mirror not being held in the frame as tiny, thin staples were not capable of it (this is not how framing is done-I work with frames). It was also just propped against the wall, not attached to anything behind it. This picture was taken not 15 minutes before it fell and we did not touch it at...
Read morePreface THIS PART IS NOT ABOUT QUALITY INN — We are traveling for the solar eclipse and booked our hotel with another local hotel MONTHS ago through Expedia. We arrived in town around 6pm only to be told by the hotel that they canceled our reservation. They say they called us 6 times at 4pm today to verify our reservation and that our card was declined when they tried to run it at 4pm. Neither of these things were true. We had been in the car for 10 hours, the phone had never rang. We get an email when one of our cards is declined, there was never even an attempt. They didn’t cancel our reservation through Expedia either so when we contacted them they said it was still valid. Every hotel in town and several towns over is booked because of the total eclipse. —- NOW Enter Quality Inn. Obviously, I was upset (tearful). There are 4 of us which includes our 2 kids. They had two rooms left one that was just a king bed and the other that was a smoking room (I didn’t know those still existed). When I told them what happened, the owners (or managers - not sure) went out of their way to get us a room. They put us in a room that hadn’t been booked bc the magnetic key reader wasn’t working. They walked us up to the room and let us in using their master key. Then both the people from the front desk returned with a maintenance person to work on the door. A few moments later there was a gentle knock on the door and the maintenance person returned with a towel. They had noticed we didn’t have enough towels for the 4 of us in the bathroom and without us even asking brought us another one. Maybe because the room had been closed up for a while and they borrowed it for another room (bc of the magnetic lock), there wasn’t a cable cord hooked up to the tv. When we asked about the tv, all 3 of the same people came right back up and moved the credenza and installed the cord and made sure the tv was working. I have done a lot of google reviews of hotels because we travel a good bit for the kids activities. I have never done a review and posted it this early into a hotel stay and I’ve also never trusted a family running a hotel this much. The rooms are clean. Beds are comfortable. The service is absolutely unmatched I HIGHLY recommend this hotel. Please visit them, if you’re ever...
Read moreWhen we arrived we were given two keys for our room. After going up to the third floor with all of our luggage, neither key would open the door. I went back down and was given two more keys. Those did not work either. I finally called the front desk, and the clerk (who was the only bright spot in our stay) came up and opened the door. We only rec'd one key at this time.
Next morning the breakfast was disappointing. The sausage was cold, and the eggs barely warm and very watery. The breakfast area is very small, and since a tour group was just leaving it was a mess with full trash cans and not much food, and no cups for the juice.
We then went up to get showers only to find out that the tub didn't drain. I was standing in water almost halfway up my shins, and I take quick showers!
I went down and spoke with Brittany about our experience and she finally agreed to give us a 10% refund. She had a very difficult time doing the credit, and as I was heading out to bury my mother I did not have a lot of time to wait. I finally received a copy of our bill, and while it did not show a full 10% discount, it did show that we owed almost $9, which she explained that it would look like that since we had pre-paid.
It is now three and one-half days later, and all our account shows is three HOLDS for the amount, and a $100 CHARGE (not hold, like EVERY OTHER Choice Hotel) for incidentals.
I called and was put on hold for 7min & 24 seconds when I was disconnected. I had to call back and was put on hold again for 10 minutes & 57 seconds before speaking with Allison. Finally after quite a long conversation where she tried to tell me that they "always charge" the $100 and then refund it. The form states that there will be a HOLD placed on the account, NOT a charge.
She told me the manager going on vacation tomorrow, and so our only option is to speak with owner. While I was explaining that if I did not hear from the owner the next day, I would be calling corporate, she hung up on me.
She did call back a few minutes later while I was typing this review and give me the manager's email address. If I get a reasonable reply, I...
