I've eaten here many times & have ordered takeout 3 times. When I dine in, the food is EXCELLENT! The crab rangoon are tasty, egg rolls aren't greasy, fish in the sushi tastes fresh, green curry is wonderful and the staff is very attentive. Never had a problem.
However, the times I have ordered takeout is where they miss the mark.
I ordered the following: pink lady sushi, philadelphia hand roll, egg roll, green curry chicken, crab rangoon and tom yum soup.
The pink lady sushi was tasty, especially since the mango was ripe. However, they forgot to include ginger and wasabi.
The philadelphia hand roll was tasty, but they forgot to include the cucumber. They did remember to give ginger & wasabi with this one.
The egg roll was so greasy, when you bite in, grease came out. Tells me the frying oil may not have been the correct temperature and the egg roll soaked up the grease.
The green curry chicken was EXTREMELY greasy. The curry sauce itself was watery with little flavor. We have not EVER had curry from there that was of this quality. Not sure if there was a change in the stadf or they were low on ingredients trying to make it work anyway.
The crab rangoon were ok. A little in the sweet side. We asked for the "house made dipping sauce" when the order was placed. Not only did they not put it in the bag, when we went back in and asked for it, they gave us more duck sauce. This time it was in a container. We tasted the sauce when we got to the car, realized it was still duck sauce, but didn't want to go back in to clarify what we were asking for yet again.
The tom yum soup was ok. The spice was overpowering, so you couldn't actually taste the meat or veggies in the soup. The broth wasn't flavorful. The most abundant part of the soup was the spicy heat.
Overall, this was the worst takeout we've had from there. When we've ordered takeout in the past, they usually just forgot to put something in the bag. The food quality was still great. Not so much this time.
Looks like we'll have to find a new...
Read moreLately I’ve been trying to expand my palate into foods I’ve not had before. On this list of foods I’d been meaning to try was Sushi. After reading many positive reviews of Sakura, I opted to try Sushi here. I started with the California roll, which was recommended to me several times as a good “beginner” sushi. The flavor was not very strong, but the roll was plated well, the texture was enjoyable, and from what my sushi-enjoying friends told me, it held up to the standard of a good California roll. My next try was a Philadelphia roll, which I thought sounded like something I would like, being that I enjoy a nova lox bagel with cream cheese, but the salmon in sushi is a very different consistency and flavor to that of prepackaged lox, and I found this to be much less enjoyable. I’m told sushi is an acquired taste, and I think it may just be a taste I have not yet acquired, but I cannot fault the restaurant for this. Overall, it was a good first sushi experience, and their menu includes many items that sushi novices can enjoy alongside trying something new, which meant that I still had my Crab Rangoon to eat and enjoy after deciding I could not eat any more seaweed. Their non sushi food also holds up well, and I may come back in the future because I felt their Crab Rangoon was the best I’ve...
Read moreThese women are extremely RUDE! I work literally 2 minutes away which would be great for lunch breaks if these women had better customer service skills. I've given this place many chances &each time it was a fail. I ordered take out and this person who took my order hung up on me without saying bye or giving me a chance to ask for my total. I had to call back to get it. Going inside is even worse.. they act as though they are better than...very standoffish and just plain rude. This isn't 1 single experience, this is on multiple occasions...my food I received this last visit was TERRIBLE!! My egg rolls were under cooked. So much so that there was a hard shell in the middle of both that I spit out..the amount of grease that filled my rolls probably would amount to a TBSP each Easily!!...soggy, greasy, undercooked rolls..just digusting! I threw it all away. I will take my business elsewhere &i do not plan on visiting this establishment anymore. Shame on you ladies!! Get it together. You are not above anyone. We are all human beings! Ypu should respect the people who come to your restuarant...we are of course the reason your still able to open your...
