This appeared to be an adorable kitschy locally owned neighborhood Thai restaurant. We came in on a Sunday evening, a full two hours before closing. We were seated at a two top even though there was two of us and baby which was okay because we were told they had reservations. One reservation came in after us and sat down. Our waiter came over took a rushed order and never returned and immediately started tending the reservation. Keep in mind this is not a reservation only restaurant. We have been sitting there maybe fifteen minutes at this point and I have to go up to request water which is very usual for an Asian restaurant. All of this would be forgivable if the food was amazing and timely and unfortunately they have the most obnoxious patron. Let’s call her Susie Baby Hater who is a self proclaimed frequent flyer. If you want to have a family meal I would run out the door if she’s there. She proceeded to bash my not even one year old who had been very good all day while flying but as you know when you aren’t home you must eat out so there we are. She couldn’t understand that she A. Makes noise B. Breastfeeds when tired and upset C. Might not have a bedtime that revolves around 1950s standards especially when logistically it’s not possible. The food was adequate for reference I got a very familiar chicken pad see eww. I believe the owners have good intentions and with a lot of help they could really turn the Blue Arroz...
Read moreA sister and brother team run this quaint little Homie like Thai bistro. They do not have an alcohol license, (no beer or wine) but sometimes that's a treat to BYOB certainly not a problem for me. We had a spring roll with (I believe ) a pomegranate dipping sauce and a peanut dipping sauce, exquisite with delicate little greens and vegetables Not your average strip mall Thai cuisine at all. I had the massaman curry veggies. Not overloaded with sugar, it was delicate and balanced, we also had the quarter roasted duck, my only complaint, and I feel unfair saying anything negative because it really was such an outstanding culinary experience for me. The duck was slightly over salted, but it was cooked to perfection. The sauce was delicious.. It was a very gourmet feel , it had a relatively small menu which I always prefer, there is enough to choose from, but it wasn't overwhelming. Someone wrote in a previous review. " I don't want the Word to get out" and I know exactly what they're saying, but I would feel unfair not singing the praises that this...
Read moreMade reservation for 6:30 and was seated promptly at that time. Food arrived at 8:05. Yep, 1 hour 35mins I waited for a plate of Pad Kee Mao in a restaurant with maybe 8 other people in it at its peak. Waiter never stopped by a single time after taking my order until he finally brought food out. Restaurant serves food with no synchronization, so if you go with a party of four for example expect all your dishes to come out separately and half of you to be done or nearly so while your unfortunate dinner companion is still waiting for theirs.
The straw that broke the camels back for me though was that my pad kee mao was served with what appeared to be instant noodles, rather than the requisite wide flat rice noodle. Asked for them to make it hot when I ordered, waiter then asked me to give heat on a 1-5 scale, I said 4… Resulting dish was so mild I could have fed it to someone convalescing from gastric bypass surgery. One star, no tip,...
