Meh. I was really excited as I've heard great things. I was disappointed from the moment I walked in. The atmosphere does not follow through on the promise of the logo and branding.
The display case was empty, and my heart sank because for a second I thought they were out of donuts. Then my eyes shifted up and I saw the donuts on the rack, just 6 or so options at 11:00 in the morning, piled on top of eachother although there was plenty of room in the trays for them to be organized neatly.
The drink cooler was half full, some of the bottles still in their unattractive packaging and the second drink cooler was completely empty with the lights off. Who knows how long ago it broke.
I ordered a cup of coffee, but was not handed the cup. The cups were within reach and maybe it's their process to let you grab your own, sort of an honor system and that's cool, but I don't know. That would have been nice to know, because eventually I took it upon myself, but wasn't sure if I was breaking a rule.
A couple of white chest deep freezers intrude on the dining room, just beyond them the donut racks with plenty of crumbs on the floor below. If you continue down that line of sight you can peer to the back room where plastic storage containers that you'd use for arts and craft supplies house sprinkles and other toppings. I get it, they get the job done, but nobody wants to know how sausage is made.
Speaking of rules, 8.5x11 white sheets of paper are taped-up here and there with random request written in Sharpie. If it's that important, spend 20 bucks on having an official signs made or print something out on your computer with your logo and laminate it.
My wife's response was "I wonder how long it's been since the owner has been here; maybe they have no idea this location is being run so poorly. I can't imagine our friends would have recommended a place that's run like this."
This review is not an attempt to torpedo what appears to be and already sinking ship. This is free consulting and a plea to the ownership.
Please, get it together. We need local and unique small businesses, not another Dunkin Donuts in your vacated space.
Make the experience as cool as your logo and I promise you'll never see a review like this again. Not from me, not from anyone.
I really hope to return one day and get to give you those...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis place is way too hyped up. The selection is minimal if youāre not first in the morning and they often close early when they run out of the solo run of product (are they even made here I wonder?). Every time Iāve drove there for a brunch time snack with friends they are closed and I sit and watch several others come grab the locked door before noon. No way to display open or closed on Google Maps before people drive there? As a result I donāt even try to give your business money because Iām rolling the dice if youāll be there so I go to a known open location instead. Google Maps does allow for this dynamic and understandable business model so customers donāt assume the liability of their time.
Unfortunately this will sound harsh, but they want to be top tier soā¦. here it is. The quality is barely that of Publix in a plastic package. The density is way off, nothing light and airy about these, even a basic glazed is like how a tortilla is to a piece of of bread. The Red Velvet was not even identifiable to my 2 other guest, could not tell what flavor it was at all. The chocolate frosting is ok, adds the needed moisture to work the rest of the bite down like mayo does to a turkey sandwich. The toppings on the other exotics are too large and/or donāt flow with the specific theme they have, itās just kinda thrown on there where you have to bite through the rigid toppings as it ruins the bite into the donut itself. Itās conflicting, although sweat, itās a poor design.
When compared to a true bougie bouquet donuts shop, this place misses the mark. Are they better than DD? Absolutely. Iām not saying this place is poor quality, but it doesnāt taste like a local hot and fresh donuts shop either, so they being graded as that and not a chain that just lumps out product.
Maybe the owners are onto something, but the execution requires some refinement on the end product. Maybe some QC would help them back to where they started to get the positive reviews that are listed here? Maybe people just like mediocre overpriced food and the financial placebo affect is still thriving despite crippleing inflation? Either way, I hope they can polish things up a bit and Stuart can get a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMiss the old staff. Asked for 6 donuts (not a half dozen)...the gal grabbed the small box, I said I wanted 2 maple bars, was told I couldn't get them with my 6.. what do you mean....those don't count toward six donuts she said. I said, I know there is an up charge, but they are part of my 6. So she sat the box down and grabbed a bag. Put the 2 bars in a bag. Picked up the box and continued to ask me what I wanted... I picked out 4 more donuts which she placed in the small box.... I said that's all. She got pissy and said, well I have to put these 4 in a bag because you didn't get 6 donuts...and 6 donuts HAVE TO be in the box (I was informed the box cost $$).... so 4 donuts in a bag.... then she turned around and PUT THE BOX IN THE TRASH. I said now that was the stupidest thing I have ever seen. I said "could have put the maple bars in the box". She informed me that I could go to the Jupiter location. Will not be returning. I would rather have excellent customer service than to be talked to the way she talked to me this morning. Oh...and this was after I was already in this same morning and spent $45 on a...
