An Unforgettable Culinary Experience at Fujiyama Sushi Restaurant
Fujiyama in Stewart is hands down one of the best sushi restaurants I have ever had the pleasure of visiting. From the moment you step through the doors, you’re greeted with a warm, welcoming ambiance that makes you feel like you’ve entered a hidden gem. The combination of traditional Japanese decor and modern touches sets the tone for the exceptional dining experience that’s about to unfold.
Service: Attentive and Friendly The service at Fujiyama is truly top-notch. The staff are attentive without being overbearing, and they take the time to make sure you’re comfortable and well taken care of throughout your meal. Whether it’s your first time there or you’re a regular, you’re treated with the same level of care and professionalism. They’re quick to make recommendations, answer any questions about the menu, and ensure your drinks are always full.
The Food: A Masterclass in Sushi Now, onto the food – which is the real star of the show! Every dish at Fujiyama is prepared with precision and care, and the quality of the ingredients speaks for itself. The sushi is incredibly fresh, with melt-in-your-mouth textures and bold flavors that will leave you craving more. I was particularly impressed with their selection of specialty rolls, each one a perfect blend of creativity and taste. Whether you’re a sushi purist or someone who loves trying inventive combinations, Fujiyama delivers on all fronts.
Some highlights from my meal included the sashimi platter, which was beautifully presented and featured an assortment of fresh fish that was nothing short of perfection. The rolls were equally impressive – from the classic spicy tuna to more unique creations like their signature rolls that balance sweetness and spice effortlessly. Every bite was a testament to the skill of the chefs.
Beyond Sushi: A Full Japanese Menu While the sushi is the main attraction, the rest of the menu is equally impressive. Fujiyama offers a wide range of Japanese dishes, from tempura to udon, and everything I tried was cooked to perfection. The miso soup was comforting and flavorful, and the tempura was light, crispy, and not overly greasy – exactly how it should be.
Atmosphere: Cozy and Inviting The atmosphere at Fujiyama is cozy and intimate, making it the perfect spot for a romantic date, a night out with friends, or even a solo dinner if you want to treat yourself. The restaurant is impeccably clean, and there’s a soothing vibe that makes you want to stay a little longer. They’ve managed to strike the perfect balance between an upscale feel and a comfortable, relaxed dining experience.
Value: Worth Every Penny For the quality of food and service you receive, the prices at Fujiyama are more than reasonable. You’re paying for premium ingredients and a carefully curated dining experience, and it’s absolutely worth every penny. Whether you’re looking to enjoy a quick lunch or indulge in a multi-course dinner, there are options for every budget without ever compromising on quality.
Final Thoughts Fujiyama in Stewart is a sushi lover’s dream come true. With exceptional food, outstanding service, and a warm, inviting atmosphere, it’s a place I’ll keep coming back to. If you’re in the area and looking for an unforgettable dining experience, do yourself a favor and make a reservation. It’s a true gem that never disappoints, and I can’t recommend it...
Read moreFujiyama should be called fuji-nah-man, because I honestly don't think anyone should come here.
We reserved a table for 8:00pm. They told us to wait for everyone to get here before they could seat us. Ok, no worries. We all get there by 8:10 and we have to wait another 20 minutes in an already crowded front of house. Why would this be if our table was already reserved? I understand we are not the Queen of England, but why make an already reserved party wait like a regular one? We are seated with the gracefulness of an underpaid host, and yet it takes me about 20 more minutes to get a boba tea. Moreover, the tea had lemon seeds in it, so because of the wide straw, I was finding lemon seeds every other sip. What crunchy fun!
The chef was almost racist in his interpretation of a hibachi chef. He called himself Mr. Miyagi, or Toyota Honda (??) and kept talking in a borderline racist japanese accent the entire time. Who are you trying to cater to with this impression?? It just made us uncomfortable the entire time. They also kept trying to hit on my family member which doubled the already overwhelming air of unpleasantness.
Now for the food... I expect if you are still reading this review you may think I'd write that the food was an affront to humanity. No, actually. I ordered the steak and shrimp hibachi combo, and it was delicious. Rather unhealthy, yes, but edible nonetheless. It was the day after when this seemingly innocent americanized cuisine took a turn for the worse. We are talking nausea, tummy aches, diarrhea, body fever, yep, you guessed it: FOOD POISONING. I cannot fathom how they cook the food right in front of you just for it to activate the full force of your immune system not even 12 hours later.
Lastly, what would I recommend instead of giving your hard earned money to this establishment? Benihana's Another restaurant that is not this one filing taxes (more appetizing!) literally anything else
I hope this influenced your decision and saved your immune system from reacting to...
Read morePregnant mama’s beware!!! This is a five star restaurant and a restaurant that I used to always come too for sushi (I’m dying to try their hibachi). As a sushi lover and someone who comes to this restaurant often, I know how to indicate what comes raw and what doesn’t. I love raw sushi but I am pregnant and can’t eat raw sushi right now so we ordered all cooked sushi. 2 came out raw, 2 came out cooked (of course the 2 cooked ones were completely fried). Our server didn’t offer to make it right she just said if someone has an allergy or an issue, they tell us. I don’t have an allergy or an issue… didn’t think I needed to tell the whole world I was pregnant!!! I ordered accordingly. My husband ate the raw sushi but eating two fried rolls by myself was hard and too much fried as we normally share everything. Waitress tried arguing that what I ordered was raw & I told her we come here all the time, I know how to order the sushi. I asked for the menu to show her it was supposed to be cooked & she just said she will tell her manager to make the changes.
They didn’t even try to fix the issue, take the raw sushi rolls back, refund us or anything. Sad this was our experience after loving this place and it being one of our go-to’s. I have not been back since due to their lack of care and...
