I regret even walking in to this store with my retired father. We had a budget for a mattress. The woman's first rude comment to us when determining what size bed my father needed was, "Most people can afford homes with a large enough bedroom to accommodate a queen sized bed." I let that one go. She first recommended a $1400 mattress. In an effort not to waste anyone's time, I said that is not even in the ballpark of what we're looking to spend. She replied that she could show us another that is $100 dollars less. $100 less?!? That's the same ballpark! I said again that he doesn't want to spend that much. Then she said, "Okay, I will show you our 'value' mattresses which we keep in the back because no one really buys them."
At this point, I feel as if she is trying to make us feel like we're being too cheap as opposed to having a budget for my RETIRED father. The last two mattresses I've gotten were from Mattress Firm and I spent about $500-$700 dollars on them. I said to my Dad that we should leave because I don't like how we're being treated here and she said, "Well, the value mattresses are good for a guest quarters, but not to sleep on 365 days a year." This woman was telling us she doesn't think the mattresses THEY ARE SELLING are good enough quality to sleep on all year round. Look at their website...there are several name brands she's referencing in a lower price range (Sealy, Sleepys, Serta), but according to her they're not good enough to sleep on all year.
This store lost an easy sale yesterday because the saleswoman put her own commission ahead of our needs and budget. Before the store replies that they don't make commission on their mattresses, google it for...
Read moreWe recently bought our 2nd mattress from them. The shopping experience is easy - no pressure, salespeople listen well and are very knowledgeable about their products. Sale price was excellent too and they delivered free, on time, to our home about 40 miles away. The reason I give them 3 stars is that they make a big deal about their easy return policy. Well it turned out we didn't care for the mattress (too firm) after their recommended period of trying it out. So we called and said we'd like to return it and exchange for the same brand but a softer model. Turns out we cant bring it in - they have to come pick it up for about $100, then there's a $100 re-stocking fee (which we did know about) AND they would no longer honor the President's Day sale price. While I can't be too mad about it, because laying on a mattress in a showroom for less than a minute, no way represents sleeping on it, so it really is a crapshoot. My disappointment is that they claim an "easy return" policy, but in the end it's probably cheaper just giving away the one you don't like and finding another on sale at another store....
Read moreI had purchased Tempur-pedic pro adapt firm mattress that was too firm for me. It came in sealed plastic bag and delivery people opened it up in front of me and placed it on mattress springs .Unfortunately it was too firm for me so I paid $350 restocking fees and was expecting that softer pro adapt, medium hybrid will come brand new in exchange. Unfortunately ,delivery people were placing hybrid mattress in plastic bag in front of me and taped it over right near their truck. When pro adapt Hybrid, medium firm mattress was placed instead of my previous Tempur-pedic pro adopt firm Mattress , newly delivered smelled like perfume instead of brand new like I had purchased few months back. I addressed that issue to delivery people, however, they were insisting that it was brand new mattress. I was a little disappointed, that mattress firm, delivered used mattress in place of firm pro adapt , that was too hard for me. Just be aware, if they say you can exchange your mattress, it doesn’t mean you will get brand new mattress instead of one that didn’t...
