In town for a meeting, Duffy's had good ratings so I thought I would try it. Sunday night, nearing the end of the Eagles game, there were lots of cheering for the Eagles, but the place was at about 25% capacity. Seemed like plenty of staff. The friendly hostess sat me, and I waited, and waited and waited. Looking around my section, there were 3 other tables, two were looking around for the server. After waiting 15 minutes, the server returned to those tables with their CC and receipts, then she was stopped by a man at the third table and they carried on for a while in friendly conversation, then finally she walked over to me. She couldn't be friendlier. Her name is Zoe, seems young. I had noticed her during my 15 minute wait, she was at the server station near the host stand chatting away with other employees. At that time I didn't know she was my server. I noticed lots of the staff tend to gather at that station and socialize for long conversations, so it wasn't just Zoe that was part of this. Seems like the culture there. Zoe was quick to bring me my soft drink and take my order. My food order was delivered after another 15 - 20 minute wait by a young man. I ordered the Buffalo Cauliflower and a Chicken Quesadilla. The Buffalo Cauliflower were good, but really could've used more "buffalo sauce". You could barely taste it, they need to toss it more generously. The Chicken Quesadilla had me puzzled, there was no cheese and the chicken didn't taste or look like chicken. It was finely sliced like a deli meat and I couldn't detect what the heck it was. I tried to give it a go but was only able to handle about 1/4 of it. I needed a soft drink refill and glanced over to the server station where again there were hot topic conversations with staff (including a guy with a Duffy's button down shirt on who appeared as possibly a manager type). I waited, tried to get her attention, finally she came to section to wait on a new table that was sat 10 minutes earlier and she walked by I asked for a refill. Again, she was super friendly and upbeat, I think it wasn't the server I feel like the culture in the venue is not customer focused. Would I go back? No thank you. It seems like a cool place to watch games, but the slow service and sticky tables were enough to...
Read moreWhat has happened? Happened to quality and attentive wait staff? We have spent a lot of time and $$ @ different Duffy locations (Melbourne, Port St Lucie, Orlando and Stuart) so we're well seasoned out-of-towners with consistent Duffy exposure. Because of Covid, we only visited this one location (Stuart) once last February 2021 and yesterday, 01/20/2022. We were a party of 4. It took a while for Danielle to serve our table. She took our drink & appetizers orders. The drinks were served first, then the appetizers. We waited a bit for the appetizer plates, as our appetizers got cold, then it took a bit for the plates to be delivered once we asked for them. Our hot appetizers were cold by the time we began to consume them. When our meal came, the chicken of the Grilled Chicken Cesar Salad was cold. There were no condiments for the fried chicken sandwich and the B.L.T. sandwich. We asked for aioli and mayo. The aioli arrived first; 24 hrs later we're still waiting for the mayo. There were 2 rounds of cocktails and 2 of diet pepsi. The 1st pepsi was flat, after my complaint, the second was perfect! Our bill totaled $132 +/- which I did not question due to the 2nd round. Several minutes later, Danielle came over to indicate there was an issue with the bill and she needed to make the correction. She asked for my credit card to correct the bill. After I handed her the credit card, I examined the charges. What I thought were charges for the cocktails was really an additional $45 for food we had NOT (the drinks were 2/1) ordered. Another server came over with the updated bill and explained they dropped the charges for the appetizers because of their error (which was the right thing to do). When I asked for a copy of the credit card reversal, he explained he was not able to generate a hardcopy with an excuse that made me uncomfortable. I told him I would not leave until I was given a hardcopy of the reversal. It took 3 times back and forth until such documentation was produced! Service was sloppy and hurried. Very disappointed. I take responsibility for not having examined the charges before I handed over my credit card; shame on me! However, the events prior to and afterwards were, again, very...
Read moreAs a server myself, I really tried to be understanding with the level of service we received tonight. First off, we had a round of drinks while we waited to place our order and I finished mine. I asked for another, and the server said “wow you drank that fast.” Which I cant even highlight as being the most discouraging service issue we had tonight. Our server had obviously forgotten to place our order in, as there were other guests that were sat and served well past our time of arrival. We let the time pass, probably waited about 45 minutes to eventually comment to our waitress about the wait time. She simply said “haha its coming!” and then proceeded to somewhat hide from our table. A different server came out and suggested that the system had a “malfunction.” Im sorry but I wish they would have been honest and upfront about the mistake. There was no apology, there was nothing done to rectify the situation and we eventually got our food after over an hour and a half of waiting. I had to ask for refills of a drink, and the empty glasses were piled up on the side (I was leaving them there to help because I assumed someone would grab them). I understand simply mistakes. I have forgotten to put in an order or two myself, but hiding, or not being honest and up front is just really discouraging to see. The least that could be done was make sure that the table had refills on drinks before running off. We arent the type of people to remove someones tip because of something like this, we all need to make a living but I felt the need to write this to say that being honest about your mistake will make the guest feel understood and seen. We felt as though we weren’t even there the entire night, and eye contact was avoided by every server. Just overall not a great experience, and it could have easily been turned around with some accountability...
