Read moreI used to live in Racine, Wisconsin many years ago and have memories of Lehmann's being a first class bakery. This year someone at work brought in a Kringle that they had received from Lehmann's. I usually buy Kringles for Christmas to hand out as gifts, but not from Lehmann's. I remembered Lehmann's and thought it would be great to order from them this year. I placed my order on December 13. Their website said all orders before the 20th would be delivered by Christmas. I received no shipping notice so I called Lehmann's. The person answering the phone sounded confused and just promised it would be delivered by Christmas. When it did not come I tried to call numerous times. No one answered the phone. I emailed Lehmann's and nobody replied. My $100 order was finally delivered the Monday after Christmas. I would not have ordered if I thought it would be late. The most frustrating part is even today no one is answering the phone at either of their phone numbers. Lehmann's may be a fine local bakery but do not order over the phone or internet and expect to get what you want on time. My fond memories are now 50 years old and I will not be trying to order from them again unless I can walk in the store and that is not likely as I now live in Texas. Lehmann's is still in the 1960's and have not learned how to do business in the...
Read moreWe were driving south on I-94 on Dec 30th and saw Lehmanns on the blue sign before the exit. My husband said “ let’s stop at the Kringle bakery & cafe”. What a great decision ! The nicest, friendliest woman was working and answered all of our questions about all of the delicious holiday baked goods they had in their cases in addition to the many different flavors of Kringle. Did I mention they also bake the most delicious stollen I have ever had in my life?! You can tell all of their baked goods are made with pride and love. We had the best conversation about different Midwest holiday baked goods Such a treat to visit this lovely little bakery. Makes me want to move to WI so I can go there more often! Definitely worth the 2 miles off of the highway. Thank you for a...
