If you had asked me what is the one restaurant I wanted to see open up around here, I would have not hesitated to respond “Bojangles”. I grew up eating there and have many fond memories associated with their chicken and biscuits. Well, guess what!? We finally have a Bojangles in Richmond, TX
I got the opportunity to visit here on the 2nd day they were opened (yes, they are open people so go eat there). The snow melted and a ray of sunshine peeked out over the clouds and shined directly in my face while I ordered at the drive thru speaker. It backlit the Bojangles sign perfectly. I would say the heavens parted, but that’s probably overkill.
I ordered the 3 piece combo with a sweet tea and the dirty rice. More on the food in a bit. I know people are put out because the Bojangles that we know and love serves chicken on a stick, AKA a bone. This one does not as it specializes in tenders. Kind of an interesting take, especially with all the competition in that field (boneless tenders). The people were amazing and everyone was friendly. The place was packed and cars were lined up to the street. Guess there are other fellow Georgians here?? Who knows.
The tenders use a different breading than their other chicken. I need to compare it to their Cajun Filet biscuit at breakfast for my next trip, but it’s definitely different than their bone-in chicken batter. Not as spicy, maybe a bit crispier. Tenders are premium sized and quality. On level with a Canes, maybe, when they give you the big tendies. The dirty rice was exactly as I remember and the sweet tea was on point. Not sickingly sweet, but enough to need a shot of insulin. The biscuit was ON POINT. This was seriously one of the biggest, fluffiest biscuits I’ve ever had from Bojangles. If they keep churning them out like that, they won’t have a problem with business.
I’m gonna be honest with you. Bojangles, for me, has always been a better breakfast option than lunch/dinner option. Some Bojangles serve breakfast all day, however this one serves it til 2pm. It is one of the BEST breakfast biscuits money can buy. Admittedly, I have not seen their breakfast menu, but I’m sure the staples on there. Sausage biscuit, gravy biscuit, Cajun filet (chicken) biscuit, bacon egg cheese biscuit, etc. you get the picture. There certain other chicken restaurants in the immediate vicinity that should be shaking in their boots over their breakfast sales. Bojangles is the best chicken biscuit game in town.
Now, don’t take my word for it. I’m biased and I admit it. If my youngest was around, I would absolutely admit to glazing Bojangles. Been enjoying their wonderful biscuits and chicken for 40+ years and I’m just happy I can enjoy it in my back yard instead of just when I go back home to Georgia. I suggest you go try them out for breakfast first and then try their tenders out at lunch/dinner. The tenders don’t have bones, but their biscuits sure were made with love.
Welcome to the neighborhood...
Read moreSo let me start by saying Bojangles is going away from bone in chicken at all new locations and will only be offering boneless options because apparently that's what their corporate research has taught them. My wife ordered the 4 piece chicken tenders with dirty rice and I ordered the fried chicken sandwich blt style with fries, we also ordered the peach cobbler biscuit, now the total was about $32-$33 I honestly don't know the change. After reading some reviews as we were waiting for the food I checked other Bojangles prices through the app and found that this location charges more I'm not sure why. As for my wife she had no complaints about her food nor the peach cobbler biscuit, my fries were a bit salty but not uneatable I've had worse. The chicken sandwich was a little spicy not a lot just a tad. I tried my wife's peach cobbler biscuit and it tasted phenomenal, way better than Popeyes dessert biscuits. I'm gonna give an overall 5 stars, the salty fries in my eyes isn't enough to knock off a star. My only real complaint is that prices should be the same across the broad, like I've said at the beginning I'm not sure why the Richmond location charges more than say the Webster location which is closer to me, we only came to this location because we were coming back into town from vacation and Richmond location was the...
Read moreDon’t order from here unless you want your entire order wrong. Obviously whoever’s working here doesn’t care about their jobs or is hating on purpose. I haven’t tried Bojangles in about 2 years since we came back from Europe and I drove down to Houston from NYC instead of another flight down. I ended up trying Bojangles in North Carolina and loved their buffalo sauce. The tenders were nice hot and fresh unlike this location. I recently had broken leg/ankle surgery so had no choice but to order delivery. I ordered through their app. My whole entire order was wrong. On both sandwiches I specified “No Mayo” and clicked that No Mayo button. There was mayo on both sandwiches. On the Bo Berry biscuits we ordered extra icing. There was zero icing on the biscuits. To add to the tender combo we even ordered two extra sauces, Peach flavor and Jalapeño ranch as well as two creamy buffalo’s that come default with the combo. There were zero sauces in the bag when we got it. For the side of my tenders combo I ordered dirty rice, there was just another Mac & Cheese. Also My Pepsi that comes with the tenders combo was missing. This is more than just one mistake, there was something wrong with everything. Unacceptable. I don’t see myself giving this location another try unless they massively turn things around. This experience ruined...
