Go to IHOP or DENNYS instead

Our server Emily at the location on Dairy Ashford and U.S.90 in Sugarland, TX was not very efficient. Emily's tone of voice, facial expressions and body language was not very welcoming and would only come to check on us unless it was to bring an item. At one point about 25 minutes passed by and she didn't not come and check on us. During this time, we needed to order more items. We had to flag her down more than twice and at one point I saw her look at me but she then pretended to not notice me until I literally said "EXCUSE ME" she then came to the table and began inching away as I made my request. She also dropped off the bill with our food. We were not even close to being done ordering off the menu. Her behavior was unprofessional for the industry and was giving us the impression that she did not want to be our server. I am an easy customer all over the greater houston area and gladly tip over 20% with even average service as long as the server gives off welcoming and good vibes. My experience today was the opposite and I would rather enjoy dining in a place where the server doesn't project their frustration on to us. My girlfriend vouches for this place but after today even she was disappointed with our experience. I will be reaching out to corporate about today as well and will be attaching a transcript of this shared comment. This is a copy of what I forwarded to corporate after...

I haven't eaten a good brunch in a long while. So, I tried First Watch out. First off, their menu was huge. I didn't have enough room in my stomach to try all their food. But, I really wanted eggs and finally settled on their farm skillet hash with added crimini mushrooms. I asked for over medium eggs, which came out perfectly runny. All the ingredients in this dish like the bacon, potatoes, mushrooms, roasted onions and tomatoes, and avocados were all delicious and pretty well seasoned. Just for my own taste, I did add a tad bit more salt and a ton of cracked black pepper. Not to mention some tobasco sauce for a bit more tang and kick. I did also get to try a bit of the Floridian french toast and morning meditation juice. Both were a ok. But, I did prefer my dish more.

It wasn't extremely packed inside on a Saturday early afternoon. But, it was crowded enough to where we had to take pandemic precautions. We opted to sit outside on one of the three umbrella covered tables for better ventilation and social distancing. Our waitress was wearing a mask and was very attentive to us, which I appreciated. They gave us utensils wrapped in a napkin, which was good. We were also able to pull up their menu by scanning a QR code. Overall, I was very pleased with my visit, and will definitely be back on a less busier day to try their other menu items, such as their frittatas and...

Kathleen was our waitress, she was nice but fake. Zack brought out our food, I asked him for butter and syrup which should have already come out with pancakes. He brushes me off and says it's on the way. I just knew from his tone that he was not going to get it for us. After a while, he doesn't come back and Kathleen didn't come to check up on us. I do see Zack bring another table food and go back to give them syrup though. Makes me wonder what makes them different from us for them to get prompt service and not us. Our food was cold by the time Kathleen came around. I told her that I asked Zack to bring us butter and syrup but it never came, she says she will get it for us and speak to him. While I'm trying to calm down and eat my cold food, Zack comes to our table to "apologize". He says that we're not his table and it was Kathleen's fault that we didnt have our syrup. First off that is not apologizing, I take it as confrontation. Second of all, I understand you're not my waiter but it's important to have teamwork. Either get me what I need or tell my waitress to get what I need. He makes me lose my appetite by then and the manager comes over to speak to us and I see Zack and Kathleen smirking at us. Very unprofessional behavior on their part. I appreciate the manager for speaking to us and allowing us to try the brand again. We will be visiting a different...

This was our first time back in a while and it didn't disappoint. The food was still on point and the Pancakes are still huge! I'm using the Butter Knife as a reference in one of the pics. The wait was pretty short this time, which was surprising. The staff was friendly and food came out in a decent time. Everything was good and our waitress was friendly. However, she needs to work on check backs and pre-bussing. Once our food arrived, she disappeared and was literally no where to be found. I needed Ketchup and was just a few bites from being done by the time it arrived... and it was delivered by another waitress! Same thing happened when we were finished. I had to send my son to hunt someone down for a To-go box. Lastly, pre-bussing was apparently non-existent. When the check was dropped off, that stack of plates in the picture was literally left sitting in front of my Mom... really?! They were even stacked to make them easier to take...SMH!!! Oh, and that was the only time btw, during our visit that we saw our waitress, after she took the order. Take the order, drop the check, but I digress. If it wasn't for the poor service, I would've given more ☆'s, because everything else was great. Hopefully that changes during our next visit. Oh, and if you do visit, order the Pancakes! Trust me!
