This place is the absolute best! It’s very close to my work so I tend to pop over when I am in the mood for a great gyro. I am very much a creature of habit and usually order and stick to the same thing, but I have decided to make it a point to expand my choices on future visits to return here with a well rounded update review. Until then, I find that the owner(s) is/are great and always welcoming and make sure their patrons are happy and satisfied. It’s a small shop with ample seating and the food is available for take out as well.
I recently discovered how my expectations have increased due to Kabob Shack’s wonderful food as they now set the bar for any other gyros I’ve ordered from other establishments and have found many don’t measure up. Most recently I tried their competition in the same center and was so disappointed with what I ordered, that I made my way back to KS that same week to make up for it. If you simply want a great tasting gyro wrap with tons of flavor you can’t go wrong with their lamb/beef gyro wrap (my favorite!) The meat is always so flavorful, the sauce just the right amount of garlic, and the pita is sooo soft and fresh. My mouth is watering as I write this, but be warned, the spicy is very spicy, at least for me. If you are not a fan of spicy you can request no spice without concern of losing flavor as it is every bit as savory with or without spice. KS does not skimp on anything. The hummus is also wonderful and I usually order it to share as it can be a great deal of food otherwise. I like that there is emphasis on the fresh without emphasis, you just taste it in every bite from the protein to the pitas. I believe this is what makes Kabob Shack stand out for me and sets the bar for other restaurants of the same to live up to in general. I highly...
Read moreWe came here on a weekend night by chance but so happy we did. It's a bright, cozy, family owned restaurant and their food is full of flavor. We were coming from the movies at 8pm searching for a place still open and serving that wasn't fast fried food, and even with only 1 hour to closing, the owner greeted us with all smiles and happy to explain to us how to pick and order plates/entrees with recommendations.
Love that they are involved with community as they were also preparing to pack up and join a group of other restaurants to cook and serve for a Ramadan event after closing that night. It was a big impression that they still accepted us at that time even when they were busy.
Even so late at night the food was great quality: cooked fresh, well seasoned, and the meats were tender and juicy. Not dry at all. And all so reasonably priced too. I had the plate with Lamb Koobideh, salad, and eggplant and shared the monster fries (freshly fried, huge serving with plenty toppings) with my group and it was excellent - we finished in minutes. My friend had gyro plate with chicken shawarma and wanted more because it was so tasty. Mango Lassi was also delicious and fresh.
If you haven't, please give them a try at least once. Delicious food and amazing service, they deserve all the attention! I am so excited to come back and will bring my friends. Keep up the great work Kabab shack! Love y'all and wish...
Read moreThis was the BEST low-carb meal of my life!!!!! And I have to say that this is by far the best Mediterranean restaurant I have ever been to.
Let me start out by complimenting the restaurant’s owner, Omar, first. He was so welcoming. He walked us through all the food options and they prepared the food in front of our eyes. The restaurant and the kitchen was super clean.
I ordered Gyro over salad with lentils and spinach as my sides. My sister was lamb Kobideh over salad and eggplant and Okra as her sides. Our meals also contained a quarter of a piece of pita bread.
The lamb Kobideh was so moist on the inside and nicely charred in the outside and extremely flavorful! Okra and eggplant was honestly to die for.
The gyro was the best gyro I’ve ever had. I couldn’t stop eating. The lentils and spinach were absolutely incredible as well.
The bed of salad wasn’t just ‘fluff’ like nasty iceberg lettuce or not even romaine lettuce. It was a nice bed of already dressed mixed greens (baby spinach, arugula, radicchio, etc.) with diced tomatoes and onions. On top of that, they laid the meats and dressed the meat further with white and red sauce.
All that to say that Omar really took pride in the food he served to his customers. I didn’t see one person leave unsatisfied. He has amazing rapport with his customers. We honestly can’t wait...
