I was happy to have Rahat open a branch in Houston so I can relive some of my memories of Rahat bakery, including the original one in Rawalpindi and others in Islamabad and Lahore. But honestly, I have been let down in every aspect. I found the prices to be a bit too high for the products. $16 for a small almond cake is way too much unless you are a michellin star world-renowned baker. The other items I tried were moti choor ladoo and Gulab jamun. Both were over sweetened and lacked both taste and texture. I wasn't expecting everything to be exactly like what Rahat bakery sells in Pakistan, but the quality of products is way sub-par. The Gulabjamun especially felt like made by an amateur making stuff out of a home. Rahat might be doing well in Canada 🇨🇦 probably because of limited options there but here in Houston, I can guarantee you, you can find much better (and much much cheaper) quality of motichoor ladoo and Gulab jamun in many different desi sweet and food shops. I don't expect them to last very long unless they improve their quality and prices drastically here in Houson. Sorry, but I have to leave an honest review, hoping things will improve.
Update: I gave Rahat another try after 3 months as I wanted to try their recently introduced breakfast option. I don't know if the owners read my previous review or not but looks like there have been major improvements in their sweet section. I tried the motichoor ladoo again as I was told that they have now brought a proper halwai from Lahore. This definitely made a huge difference and now the ladoo taste and texture was what it should've been 3 months ago. The halwa puri and pratha omelette all tasted great. The only thing a bit lacking was that the pratha and the puri as well were a bit dry. Probably because the pratha was made with more white flour (maida) and used oil instead of desi ghee to make and fry them. The puri needed a bit more elasticity as well and had not really puffed up like they should if they are properly kneeded and proofed. So I am now updating them to 4 stars though I still think the prices are a bit too high for what they should be and there is still room for improvement in some...

You can't sell a malai khaja for $6.99 -- for comparison that is almost 1700 rupees. Why would anyone buy 1 malai khaja when such a delicacy can be found (frozen) from Pakistan for same price but quantity 6. Try to understand the market of fresh mithai. The population of ppl eating malai khaja is very very very small compared to Lahore.
Fresh mithai should have a price tag but only if it can be compared to mithai in Pakistan. $11.99/lb is very pricey specially when some of the sweets don't taste like anything we know from Pakistan. Again very small population who will buy it here compared to Pakistan.
Now coming to items like samosa's and puffs etc. again poor pricing. $1.99 for a samosa (yes it's big) but in taste I would prefer Aalo samosa of rehmat sweets or world foods. The chatni's don't look they were for samosas?? I couldn't try a chicken puff for $4.99 (it may have been big). bad pricing but may be it's not catered to the masses of Pakistani expats?
For owners: It's a tricky situation. Such items are for wider market in Pakistan but a niche here in US. Trying to establish something here you need to focus on small size and quantities with smaller price tags. Don't trust video bloggers, as they don't represent the masses.
You have almost 6 months before the month of Ramadan and then Eid. Do thorough market research on pakoras, samosas, puffs, chaat and mithai etc. visit chai shai, world foods, rehmat sweets,...

Rahat Bakery is an absolute gem for anyone craving delicious and authentic treats. I recently visited and was blown away by the variety and quality they offer across so many items. They have everything from freshly prepared omelette, parathas and halwa poori to a range of amazing cakes and traditional desi sweets.
Starting with breakfast, the omelette was spicy and the paratha was perfect – crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and full of flavor. It paired wonderfully with their halwa poori, which came with fluffy pooris, rich halwa, and spicy chana. It’s the kind of breakfast you keep thinking about long after you’ve finished eating.
Their cakes are another highlight; there’s a wide range of options for every occasion. The cakes are always and, most importantly, taste incredible. From almond cake to united king style coffee cake to marble cake, all having unique flavors, each cake feels like it’s been made with care.
And for lovers of traditional desi sweets, Rahat Bakery has some of the best around. The gulab jamuns are soft, perfectly sweet, and have that melt-in-your-mouth quality that’s so hard to find. They also have a variety of other classic mithais each one tasting as good as it looks.
Overall, Rahat Bakery combines quality, variety, and authenticity in a way that keeps me coming back. Whether you're in the mood for breakfast, cakes, or desi sweets, this place won’t disappoint....
