Austin chai wala at Moosa Colony Food Trucks became the seventh stop on our Houston food tour. Ahsan, the owner, greeted us with wonderful hospitality.

We decided to try the traditional bun kabab, which features a beef shami kabab wrapped in egg batter and shallow-fried, accompanied by chutney, tomatoes, and onions. While we enjoyed the shami kabab and its accompaniments, the unexpected addition of ketchup was a surprise, as it's not part of the traditional Karachi bun kabab recipe. If I had known, I would have requested to omit the ketchup. We also had the Kashmiri chai which was pretty good.

Beyond the ketchup mishap, the shami kabab itself tasted quite good. I'm willing to give Austin Chai Wala another chance in the future, but this time without the ketchup.

First time I went to the Houston location after visiting the original one in Austin. I had to drive around to the back of Cafe Yasmin’s parking lot and I eventually found the truck. My friend and I ordered Masala Chai which was about $3 a cup. The gentleman who ran the food truck told us that they also had Bun Kababs as a special this weekend. We stuck with just the chai and when it was time to pay, my friend was like “no no I got it, it’s your birthday!” The gentleman overheard us arguing and was like “oh it’s your birthday? The chai is on me!” He gave me a free cup even though I politely refused and said it was no big deal. Exceptional service, great chai as usual! Hopefully, I’ll return to try...

AUSTIN CHAI WALA in Sugarland, Austin has genuine kashmir chai. I tried kashmiri chai in so many places in Los Angeles but this is the best.

We don't have enough parking lot here so you need to plan very late or very early. We have additional parking lot behind the truck and adjacent premises we can park there as well.

Kashmiri chai is not available all days they are serving only 3 days a week so the demand will not miss. Doodhpatti is another chai we can try from this place apart from kashmiri chai.

Management is cool and friendly. You will find more number of desi people at this place and surroundings due to the restaurants are owned...
