Today (5/30/24), I visited Agha Juice with my wife and three-year-old son. My son usually enjoys helping with transactions, and we often let him hand over the credit card to the cashier. However, this visit turned into a frustrating experience.
At the counter, there was a donation box. Following our usual routine, I gave my son some money to drop into the donation box. Unfortunately, he also inserted our credit card into the donation box, mistaking it for the place to insert the card. When we realized what had happened, we immediately asked the staff to call someone who could unlock the donation box to retrieve our card.
While we waited, we placed our order using a different credit card. Eventually, the owner with a commanding presence arrived. When I explained the situation to him, his response was shockingly rude. He reprimanded me, saying we should teach our children not to insert cards into the donation box and that we shouldn't let them handle cards at all. His demeanor was angry and dismissive, as if we had disturbed him from some other important task.
This kind of behavior is unacceptable in any business, especially in a customer-facing role. As a business owner or manager, he should understand that customers are the backbone of any establishment. His attitude was a stark reminder of why customer service is paramount, and how far this establishment falls short in that regard.
We ordered a puff, faluda, and other items, and while the food might be decent, the poor attitude of the staff ruined our experience. It's not just about the food; it's about the entire atmosphere and how customers are treated. Children are children; they make mistakes, and as adults, we guide them. Placing a donation box so close to the counter without clear demarcation makes it easy for mistakes like this to happen.
This kind of desi behavior is not acceptable, especially in the US. Telling a customer that they should teach their children better is not only rude but also unprofessional. We will never visit this establishment again and will be sure to inform our friends and colleagues about this negative experience. If you have children, beware – you might find yourself being policed for their innocent mistakes.
I am deeply disappointed and disgusted by the way we were treated. The poor customer service completely overshadowed any positives about the food. Businesses that don't respect their customers don't deserve their business. This experience was a stark reminder that attitude and customer service matter just as much, if not more, than the...
Read moreBeware Houston Desi Community just want to bring it to your attention if you go to agha juice located at voss rd and Hw6. There were many familiies visiting there for a charity event happening in food truck plaza (moosa colony) on saturday night. Families were parking in that plaza where they have agha juice shop and people were spreading across these shops agha juice, ashar restaurant, fili tea spot and food trucks. There were multiple tow trucks towing cars if they see you going towards the food trucks where the charity event going on. Even if you have bought food/drink from agha juice and other shops. Tow company was charging $300 for each car and i witnessed 6 families were effected including mine. We found out agha juice owner is the one behind all that chaos. Even fellow shop keepers in same plaza told us that owner of agha juice is behind all that chaos. I have receipts available for purchase at agha juice. But he (agha juice owner) blatantly told me on my face that if you go to food truck side you will have to face towing. They should have it in clear writing on the wall. Parking sign says for tennat only. We all assumed all these shop keepers are tennants. In fact we bought food from these shops too. He is doing that to his own community. He knows 99% families visiting there are desi and they buy stuff all around these shops and food trucks. Greed has lead him into revenge mode against food truck vendors and he is unleashing his frustration on families, even his own customers. I am writing this for awarness so others don’t be victim of agha juice owner’s greed and revenge. Owner of that plaza should be ashamed for doing this to his own people. I did all my due dilligence to find out the fact and even saw messgas on tow truck company’s driver from plaza owner. We will never go there again. I would request whoever was effected there bring it up in your circle and let people know about those greedy people. Many People visting charity event ended up paying $300 because of...
Read moreJust been to Agha Juice and has decided never to return again. We (a family of 5) have already been there quite a few times and liked it because of the nostalgia the products evoke in us of long forgotten tastes. Though the owner, Mr.Saleem and his assistants are mostly grumpy, we had struck a cordial relation with conversations about cricket and their various products. And always spent around 30 bucks happily buying the drinks. It had become a ritual everytime we went to Afghan Cuisine, right next door. And today, we had our parents visiting from India and we were proudly trying to show them our ethnic spots in Houston. So after a lunch at Afghan cuisine, went over to Agha's juice- only to realize that we are 15 mts ahead of the opening time of 2o'clock( we had thought it opened at 11:30 ). And we saw that the lights were already on, and there were people at the back. Agreed, that at a strange place we would have just waited till opening time, but being already familiar with the owner, we knocked on the door and then called the store number to check if they would open up for us. At which, the owner rushed out of the back, slammed the phone and then rudely mouthed and pointed at the opening time on the board. He spoilt an entirely good outing with our parents with his rudeness. It is Ok, Mr.Saleem, you were in the right, and stuck to your opening time, and it was wrong of us to expect you to be courteous to regular customers. And probably you have plenty of customers, that you don't care whether you gain or lose a few. But you have definitely lost 5 loyal customers, who used to rave about your desserts, and to be honest, it is going to be a huge...
