This is something I wanted to share about a horrible experience I had at Dairy Queen on Trolley Rd today around noon. I wanted to make this aware to my service dog handler friends and hope they share this as it has GOT to stop. This is a review I posted on their FB page. “The dark-haired female working today, February 6, 2019 around noon wanted to refuse service because of my ADA approved service dog. This has happened twice to me in this establishment. She refused to tell me her name so I could let the owner know. She told me that all the customers would complain with me having a dog in the store. She also said I was making a “big scene” which is ridiculous as I never raised my voice, I offered her all the documentation I had (which by law I’m not required to do) and explained she could call the number on the back of the ADA card to know the restaurant’s rights as well as mine. She finally just asked what I wanted then told me to leave when I got my frappe’. I went and sat quietly in the corner while the store filled with customers. Not one of them complained, instead they smiled at Jillian and told me how beautiful and well behaved she was. I finally called the police to hopefully educate the lady who was rude and wouldn’t look at the ADA card I had explaining the federal law which she instead slid with force back at me telling me she “didn’t care and didn’t want it”. I didn’t want this to happen to me again when I went there with my children and I didn’t want it to happen to anyone else. It’s traumatizing and upsetting to be treated that way for something I’m doing legally, quietly and non- disruptively. When I went back to the counter to get the corporate number before leaving she said there wasn’t one. Also, I did ask her for an apology which she refused to give and told me I was again making a “big scene and was over the top in calling the cops”. I explained to her that I just wanted her to be educated about this to which she replied “I’m not stupid, I don’t need any education”. I replied that I absolutely wasn’t calling her stupid but was trying to educate her and the team about the rights of service dogs and their handlers since she wouldn’t listen to me or read the material I gave her. She kept saying “I was ridiculous, over the top and service dogs have to be big, on a leash and walking on the floor.” I’ve contacted the corporate office - yes lady, there IS one which I’m sure you knew. I’ve been told a formal review is in process from the corporate end down to the regional manager. Truly, I really hoped she’d just listened to me, read the ADA info I’d given to her and that this could be resolved peacefully and politely. I’ve NEVER had to call a corporate office about a complaint - only about excellent service I wanted to share. I’ve never called the police about anything except an emergency. However, there must be education provided from the regional owners on down to the employees as this is completely illegal and must...
Read moreTHEY DO NOT SERVE BUTTERSCOTCH DIP CONES OR DILLY BARS HERE. When I said they should serve this because it's the best, and the only reason I go to DQ, THEY REFUSED TO EVEN entertain the idea of serving cones or even stocking the freezer. The manager said they would never sell it. What do they have against butterscotch or loyal customers? THEY ARE DQ IN NAME ONLY. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.
To the owner,
You should seriously entertain the idea of abandoning this franchise and opening a Subway and refusing to serve roast beef. Until you serve butterscotch coating, I will divert all business I can from your restaurant to the Goose Creek restaurant, the only one in the area that serves butterscotch dilly bars, and are in the process of getting a warmer for bscotch dipped cones. They listen to and actually care about their customers. I ditched my plans and drove there today in rush hour traffic in the rain 45 minutes out of my way to score a box and I'll do the same every week, maybe more, I already ate three. I'll do the same when I'm not pregnant. My sisters pregnant too and loves this stuff as well. Pregnant women everywhere cry because not enough "DQs" have this and one of these days one of them is gonna go postal on your ass. When goose creek starts serving fresh dipped cones, you'll really regret it. If you pride yourself in making your customers happy then you will have a fabulous business and you'll be really happy. I wish you peace and prosperity, but don't open a DQ and not serve butterscotch...
Read moreI ordered a banana split and a hotdog combo. A girl with long hair reddish in color came out with a banana split. I wasn’t sure if it was my banana split. I asked if it was with the hotdog combo. She replied with a smart remark and said it is a banana split. Later just slung the hotdog across the counter. I had to ask for my chips. I went outside to see if there was any information outside on who to contact. Another customer was disturbed by her actions. So if you check your call log 6/13/25 between 6:00 and 6:30 you probably have a couple of calls. I didn’t want to speak to a kid. I have never had issues here before. I would love to be contacted. I was offered a refund. I am not trying to get a free meal. I don’t want one. If I see that individual in there again I will not eat there again. She needs to learn, and I wasn’t even rude. The woman I spoke with outside agreed. I just wanted to make sure I wasn’t taking someone’s...
