The restaurant is bright, clean, and new inside with a faint chemical smell of a cleaning/sanitizer liquid, but more of Mexican food passing by to be delivered. The atmosphere is very nice, and it was busy in a good way for a Saturday night. I like the sconces on the ceiling fans that are colored like the Mexican flag, very cool. Our server Mayo took great care to make sure we were satisfied, he was very professional, and he answered our questions like he wanted to make sure we were happy. The salsa has a light smokiness, but is otherwise weak in flavor and spice (let's call it "white people salsa"). The guacamole was just okay, but it had a nice taste of jalapeño spice. The queso was lackluster. The horchata is tasty and refreshing! Refills were always fast and my party of four never had to wait. Portions were a little larger than expected. The Mexican rice served with my grande burrito was very tasty, more flavorful than the rice at nearby competitors. My burrito was delicious. My son's shrimp and scallops were fantastic. While the salsa disappoints, the staff, atmosphere, and meal were all good enough to have me come back again...

Read moreThis is probably the best Mexican restaurant I've visited in Charleston so far.
The place was decently busy, but we didn't have to wait to be seated. The tables were nice and clean, and we were brought fresh chips and salsa soon after sitting at the table.
The menu is ready to navigate, as it is divided by specials, and then choice of protein. They offer a wide variety of (in my opinion at least) very authentic Mexican dishes. I thought I was going to miss out on good Mexican food after moving here from Vegas, but this place delivers.
I had a combo plate which included a quesadilla and a burrito, as well as a side of beans. For an upcharge, I opted to have lengua with my quesadilla, and it was definitely worth it.
They also have a decent drink menu, and I had their "Purple Gecko". It was really delicious, and not too heavy on the alcohol.
I will definitely be coming back...
