We pass Monk's Bar & Grill multiples times and finally had a moment to go in and dine. Buckle up, I like to do in-depth reviews, TL;DR at the bottom. First Impressions: It was packed when we arrived, parking was an obstacle in and of itself. This made us think that this was the place to be. We're not sports enthusiasts, but the thought did cross my mind if there was some sporting event that lead to the high volume of tenants. Wait Time: We go in, it's a 10-15 minute wait, we go back outside to wait as there was a line, and 3 minutes later a table cleared up. Being as packed as it was, we understood that there might be some wait time for our order to be taken and our meals to come rolling out. Overall, it wasn't too unbearable, and it was more reasonable than anything. They have a cool robot server running around, I hope it's getting paid fairly. Atmosphere: It's your usual sport bar/pub restaurant combo. They had a bar area, TV's all around playing different things, lots of Packer decor, but this is WI, so it's expected. Service: Our server was very chill and attentive. Overall, Morgan did great! Food: We ordered the cheese curds for the appetizer, the server was kind to inform us that they taste better with ranch than with marinara sauce, but they did fail to inform us that ranch is extra ($0.50) but now you know. We also ordered their Sweet Chili Cauliflower Bites, the sauce tasted like Asian Zing sauce from Buffalo Wild Wings, other than that, it's fried cauliflower with sauce. For the main meal, we ordered the Smoked Brisket Burger and the Alamo Burger. At first glance, they look amazing and photogenic. The Alamo was very disappointing, there was no flavor in that patty. After a couple of unsatisfied bites, I disassembled my burger. The mushroom & caramelized onions were oddly very sweet and overpowering, with a hint of BBQ sauce. It says there's bacon in there, but I didn't taste the bacon when it was all together, after separating, the bacon was sad soggy meat slices. Speaking of soggy, that bottom bun slice was absolutely drenched, your fingers were just sinking in trying to grab a hold of the bun. The amount of lettuce & tomato was laughable compared to how big and presentable the burger was. The only good tasting thing on this burger were the two breaded mozzarella wedges that were stuck on top, they had enough flavor that I didn't need to dip them in the sauce. Then (and only then) after adding some salt and pepper to my patty, was that more enjoyable. For the Smoked Brisket Burger, just go to Smoky Jon's BBQ. It had the same issue as the Alamo, with the patty, bottom bun, lettuce/tomato ratio, and overall lack of flavor. Portion Size vs Value: The amount of cheese curds you get for $9 and the amount of cauliflower bites you get for $9 is not worth it. The cheese curds were very small, as if it was the remanence of what once were good curds, same with the cauliflower, they were very small pieces that looked bigger due to the breading. The burgers, as a whole, are a lot, you get pickles slices on the side, fries/chips, and the extras stuff that they skewer on the top bun, each one was $16. However, seeing how distasteful they are, to me, they are not worth it. I dare say Culver's has better burgers and I can get two basket meals for almost the same price as one Monk's burger, and it'll have more flavor. Conclusion: Overall, Monk's left me very unsatisfied. They can definitely improve on how they present the burger to deter the bottom bun from sucking up all the juices, not skimp on the lettuce and tomato, and season their meats. The only time I'll go back to Monk's is if a friend/family member wants to go, but I'll probably avoid the burgers the next round and try something different. I'm very critical of taste and the overall integrity of my meal, and so my review is just that, my review of my own experience at this restaurant for the first time. (no pictures of my dissected burger, hands got dirty)

I went here for supper tonight ( 04/29/2021 @ 5pm roughly ) and decide to order and then take my food home to eat wasn't impressed much the staff was nice and fast but the price and food quality was poor ! I got those Monkey Fries with Wisconsin Cheese instead of nacho cheese and boy half the fries were not covered with cheese and bacon like advertised it was fully covered wrong ! The Bacon Cheeseburger I upgraded to ultimate to get an extra patty and add extra cheese (Cheddar ) was suppose to be add to the American Cheese and the bacon I asked to be crispy when i got it home had to add more cheese and the bacon was not crispy and the patties were off angled which meant it was sloped together fast just to get it out the door not the way it shoulda been ! The prices were crazy high i paid almost 3 bucks just for a Coke pop what ? You heard me 3 dollars for a pop ! Now onto the location after a bunch of twist and turns I finally found the weird parking lot set-up which made coming and going very difficult ! Overall in my opinion the service was fast and quick 4 stars for that ! Food quality 2 stars Location 1 star Listening to customers 1 star Will I go back probably not it's too pricey and not worth the taste for the prices but the staff was very fast and friendly ! Would I suggest this place to anyone probably not but everyone has different experiences here so use your own judgement but remember prices can reflect taste when looked back upon !

Good atmosphere for a sports bar/restaurant. Bar and restaurant areas were separated which allowed for a more intimate dining experience. The outside patio had adequate seating with umbrellas to block the sun. Dining and bar areas were kept clean and no leftover food was observed on floors or tables. For an appetizer we had the deep fried cheese curds which although small in size they gave you a good number to eat. The breading was light which prevented them from becoming soggy and oily. We had both marinara sauce and ranch dressing for dipping. I recommend asking for appetizer plates so you're not double dipping in the sauces. The Monster Burger was delicious but I recommend Cheddar or even American Cheese versus the Provolone. I had my burger bun-less which wasn't a problem for the cook. The sweet potato fries were cooked to perfection and not oily. My wife had a salad that she said was delicious and would get it again. For desert we had the Lemon Gelato. The combination of the lemon gelato, blueberries, and strawberry with a creamy caramel sauce was a great palate cleanser after the burger and salad. It is a family friendly restaurant with friendly staff.

The food was plentiful and the waitress was lovely! My main concern was safety. Not just for our baby and another patrons babies but for employees as well. We were seated at a very busy intersection with our 3 month old who was in a car seat half the time. We had her in a sling at the end of the booth where older kids would sit in a high chair. At first this posed no issue but eventually another large family was seated next to us at an adjacent table(not a booth) that had 2 carseats that needed a sling each. This created an extremely narrow path for servers to get through. My daughter's carseat was bumped once or twice, thankfully while I was holding her, but I worried for the employees trying to do their job the whole time as well as for the other babies still in their carseats. That particular booth we were seated in really isn't suitable for a family that needs a carseat sling or high chair for both employee and customer safety. When we were seated there were many other booth options that would have been safer for everyone. Those floating tables in the middle of the floor tend to be combined often for large families as it was in this situation so avoiding having our carseat at the corner booth by the kitchen where traffic is high would save a lot of headaches and possible injury. Again, the food and waitress were great, I just would hate to see anyone hurt because of poor seat planning. Out of all available seats we were put in a spot that was risky due to our carseat and how busy it was. High chairs and slings should be planned further from the high traffic areas so employees can safely do their job and moms don't have to panic...
