I went in to change details on our membership, renew it, cash in our rewards, and shop. Knowing the customer service is through the exit(which makes no sense to begin with) I walk through the exit to go up to the desk and one of the employees checking receipts rudely stops me and asks can I help you. I told her what I was doing and she says you can go up to the desk with the returns. Okay got it.... that's where I was heading anyways. Guy behind the counter was very nice giving back my rewards money, then I ask him if he'd be able to update my account as well. All I needed was my last name changed since I got married. He said he couldn't and I needed to go around the counter and talk to one of the 5 people on the other side. Okay so I look and there's one computer open I wait for an employee to come back to it. In the mean time, all other employees were helping customers and the person that was at the now empty computer was helping another employee. I look and there was one couple waiting off to the side ( mind you this counter is an L shape and the so called line was not destinct) it doesn't even make sense that your help desk is at the exit where people are trying to shuffle out, waiting in line to get their receipts checked.... so I'm standing at the front/largest part of the counter and Melanie finished helping someone so I step up to her computer and she tells me she's not helping me. I asked her why and she said there's other people waiting. I look to both sides of me confused and she points to the other side of the counter and goes over there. I then say, so the 10 minutes I stood here while you made eye contact with me you couldn't say ma'am the line starts over there??? Or any of the other employee watching me wait could not say anything.. she then was very rude to me ( mind you I had my 9 month baby along, who was then fussy because we stood there 10 minutes not moving!) I asked to speak to a manager and she said her manager was gone and she still wasn't going to help me. I walked away not buying anything because Melanie was so rude. For someone who's working in customer service she deserves to be fired or moved to a different depart because clearly customer service isn't her strong suit. Was in Costco (SunPrairie, WI) on Saturday August 6 '22 to pick up a special cake order for my daughter's baby shower. First of all, the bakery is amazing there. This cake, along with past orders, was absolutely beautiful. Great job to the bakery staff. I went to this Costco around 4:45pm on Saturday to pick up the cake. As I was pulling it from the cooler, lights and sirens started flashing. I saw staff flying around the store closing cases but being polite to those in the store. I had picked up a few additonal items (a "given" when I go there) and headed to the checkouts. The store lost power and the lines were insane. There was about 50 carts ahead of me. They announced they had lost power and were rebooting the system. While most of us waited, they handed out water and cookies. After about 20-30 minutes, they announced that they were not about to sell any items due to the power loss, applogized, and told people they could leave there carts there and they would take care of the items. I panicked....wondering what I was going to do for a cake for this baby shower. I found a worker, told him I didn't need the additional items but had to get this cake. I said I had cash to pay for the cake at least. He went to speak to his manager. He came back about 10 min later and said his manager was letting me take the cake...no charge. I was so touched that they had compassion for the situation. I went in on the following Monday and spoke to the manager, tried to pay and also give my thanks for his kindness. He refused my pay for the cake and was happy that everything turned out well. It just takes a little kindness ......so appreciated. My daughter was so happy with the cake.
