Very nice. I'd say 4.7 for food alone. I had the brisket plate which was slightly dry but then I normally order brisket from the "juicy" side & totally forgot to do so here, so any dryness may be my own fault in a way. Love that it was not overly spiced to any degree; just 90% smoked meat flavor 10% spices. The bbq sauces I won't judge as I don't like standard bbq sauce at all anyway. With that said, I did enjoy the Carolina one as it was more of a mustard than a bbq sauce. Tho, as I had it with brisket, it did make me think of corn beef n cabbage lol, so I didn't have much of it.
The staff was so friendly all around; from the guy taking my order with a big welcoming smile to the bar tender who did the true bar tender thing and chat a bit while pouring my drink, asking about my day. She even discussed the drink I selected & had me try it to make sure it was to my liking. Very great service here. And a guy came & cleared my table just now as I type, despite this being a clean after yourself sort of place. Awesome!
The ambiance and view from the patio tho chef kiss magnifico! So peaceful. Fantastic way to spend a Friday afternoon lunch. Came to scope the place out for my birthday dinner next Friday & I have for sure found the spot. Will be back, with others &...

Back in the 70s, Sunken Gardens was an idyllic escape from the rapidly developing Silicon Valley. Working at Intel, escaping to the green oasis was a welcome lunch respite. Many years later, our cycling club led a ride to the Old Greenwood BBQ for great ribs. Called, "Ride to Eat, Eat to Ride” It was so popular that the group went back there again. Catering? Let’s try it.
Old Greenwood catered a fabulous lunch for 40 hungry cyclists at our home. BBQ to the max Ribs. Grilled chicken. Pulled Pork, Sausages. Brisket. All had smokey greatness. Potato Salad, Coleslaw, Baked Beans, Caesar Salad — each done well. Sweet bread rolls complemented the smokiness. We’d expected fewer folks but with our appetizers and a large birthday cake, we had ample food. We’re really enjoying the few leftovers! (The three BBQ sauces that came with it — Carolina Gold (mustard), Hot, and Regular — are not needed for their BBQ, but I’m using the leftover sauces for my own spectacular cooking.)
Old Greenwood gets 6 stars out of 5 for their catering. They’re catering is fabulous. Their BBQ...

I am so disappointed in myself for not finding this wonderful BBQ place sooner! Came here today randomly with a friend and WOW, this is some of the best BBQ meats I've had. The ribs were perfectly smoky, very tender, but still had a bit of bite. The brisket was exceptional as well. Obvious smoke ring on both, so this is real BBQ - made by someone who obviously takes pride in their work. I didn't try the chicken, but my friend did and said it was very good as well.
The manager (maybe owner) was super nice, checked in on us a few times and even brought us some pulled pork to sample, since that was the only thing we hadn't ordered. It was quite good as well, so you really can't go wrong here.
They have some very tasty sauces too, solid BBQ sauce and a mustard sauce that caught me by surprise, since I don't usually like mustard.
I did not try any sides, so can't comment on those - it was all ala cart meats for me.
Don't let the location fool you, the BBQ is some of the best...
