Peets has gone very far downhill since it first opened. The customer service here is generally better than a lot of other Peets in the area, but this store is still subpar.
For starters, there is never any parking for customers. The only parking available is "for pickup only" "curbside pickup" spaces for random other businesses like the Habit burger next door. If you go to this Peets, you will usually have to park in one of these spots and risk getting your car towed. There is no Peets parking for Peets customers.
Also, they almost never have coffee brewed, which is very bizarre for a business that is primarily a coffee shop. Coffee should always be available for customers, but no matter what hour of the day or day of the week you arrive, you will most likely be waiting 5-10 minutes just for them to brew more coffee before they can serve you.
Pastries are regularly sold out so good luck getting the pastry you want as well.
They also have some kind of problem with their building fire alarm that has been going off non stop for about the past week. Apparently the management of this location don't care if their building burns down or if their staff get hurt in a fire. I don't know in what world is it acceptable to ignore an alarm for an entire week straight.
I also second what some other reviewers said about the music. Some employee there has been playing the most awful generation Z music and it makes even standing in there unbearable. Luckily they at least have tables outside where you don't have to...
Read moreNot impressed. The location is good and the patio is nice but that is about it. They got my order too sweet and too icy (ordered a Javiva ice blended drink, with soy and less sugar). I forgot to add my drink to my Peetniks rewards app, and so went back to the shop immediately to add it. It seemed my barrista had checked out of her station, and her replacement could not check me in to collect my rewards. All they said was "sorry, we can't", after trying for a minute. The other Peets down the street is SOOOO much better - they get my order right, and have gone out of their way to ring my rewards in when I forgot to do it while ordering. Yes, I know I keep forgetting to ring in my rewards, but it makes a difference when the team really tries to help me. This Peets was just not great, sadly.
Also, what is up with super sick people going to coffee shops and practicing poor hygiene? Had a similar experience in Starbucks, and it is the same here. Come on people - stop infecting others by covering your mouth when you cough or sneeze. It's basic hygiene and really, basic...

I'm an asian american living in Mountain View. My workplace is in Sunnyvale right across PF Chang. I stopped by Peets Coffee to get a doze of caffein. When I walked in, nobody was in line. The lady at the cashier was white as well as the barista. I ordered a medium cup of coffee and waited. Then a white guy came in, ordered coffee and got his after few minutes. And I was still waiting for my order. A white lady cop came in and got her coffee after a few minutes. Then mine came last even if I got in first before the two white folks. I said: "Wow! Is this a kind of racism?" I will never go back there and spend a single penny for that stupid and evil coffee shop. I'm a pastor of a church in Mountain View and I have five thousand families. I will not recommend this coffee shop to every single family...
