UPDATE: After receiving a $25 gift card as a gesture of goodwill, I returned for an encore at a less busy time (4 PM Sunday). While there were some ordering hiccups with the kiosk not accepting gift cards and menu confusion between grilled vs. crispy chicken options, the food itself was giving redemption realness! The queso de mayo melt came through with perfectly toasted bread and warm, melty insides, and even the pickle was serving fresh, crispy excellence!
While the cashier forgot to ask if we were dining in (resulting in everything being packaged to-go), the quality of the food and peaceful atmosphere made up for these small stumbles. Sometimes a second chance is all a queen needs to shine, darling!
Original review:
Listen up, queens and kings! Your girl just had herself a little adventure at The Melt, and it was giving... mixed feelings, darling.
The food? It's serving decent realness, but the presentation was looking like it got caught in the rain without its wig! That Swiss 'n' Shroom chicken sandwich came out looking like it had been through a rough night at the club - all smashed and disheveled. Not the lewk we were hoping for, sweetie!
The BBQ Bacon situation was giving better energy, but that lonely half pickle on the side? It's like showing up to the ball with only one false eyelash, honey! The sweet potato fries, though? Now those were the real queens of the show, especially with that Parmesan crown - serving crispy, cheesy excellence!
But the real drama? The seating situation was messier than a dressing room before showtime! With that street fair outside, it was like trying to find an empty mirror during peak performance hours. Some folks were camping at tables without their orders - not very sisterly behavior, if you ask me!
The taste? It's good enough to keep me from throwing shade, but not quite enough to make me death drop with excitement.
The verdict? It's giving "decent lunch spot realness" but needs to work on its presentation and crowd...

We enjoyed a few items. First was the original single melt burger. Asked for the jalapeño-pickle mix on the side. One I tried it, I wished I got the double instead, it was so tasty. A little greasy, but what burger is not?
Second was the melty mac. I considered grilled cheese instead, but what dish better to rate a cheese place than mac 'n cheese. I was not disappointed. Very yummy, not overly cheesy and topped with a very nice bread crumb that made the consistency perfect.
Two sides we tried were the garlic parmesan fries and the tomato soup. Both were great. The fries were perfectly crispy-cooked IMO. And the right size and thickness. Loaded with toppings. The tomato soup had a nice sweetness and creamy and smooth.
I forgot the fountain drink brand, but it was one of those designer brands. The diet cola was good, the lemon lime was good. The ginger ale was a little too hot for me. Root beer was super duper sweet.
You enter and order at the counter, then get a pager. The service was really friendly and the foot prepared quickly. Parking garage around the corner in the back. And it's downtown Sunnyvale so lots of places to walk around before or after. Great...
Read moreThe Melt in Sunnyvale is a classy take on the classic burger joint, perfect for when you’re in the mood for something a little more upscale. I decided to sit outside for a few minutes to figure out my order and was pleasantly surprised by their outdoor seating area—it’s not only well-heated but also equipped with screens playing live sports for some added entertainment.
Their menu is extensive, which made it tough to decide. A standout feature is their option to replace any burger with an Impossible patty, which is great for vegetarians. They also offer a variety of sides and drinks, adding to the appeal.
When I asked the server for recommendations, he wasn’t able to narrow it down, simply saying “everything is good.” So, I went with the Impossible Spicy Mission Burger, garlic parmesan fries, and a soda.
The food arrived quickly and was well-presented. The burger was delicious with just the right amount of spice, though the fries could have used a stronger garlic flavor. Still, they weren’t bad.
While it’s a bit pricier than your average burger spot, The Melt delivers on quality and atmosphere. If you’re looking for a fancy burger experience in Sunnyvale, this is a...
