I recently celebrated my birthday at Grand Lux Cafe in Sawgrass Mills, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience! I had the pleasure of spending quality time with my kids while enjoying top-notch food and impeccable service. The menu at Grand Lux is a delight, and every dish we ordered was a true masterpiece. From the appetizers to the entrees and the decadent desserts, our taste buds were treated to a delightful journey. The variety on the menu ensured that there was something to please every palate. What truly elevated our evening was the exceptional service. The staff was attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure we had a memorable celebration. Their attention to detail and warm hospitality made us feel truly special. The ambiance at Grand Lux is also noteworthy, with a comfortable and inviting atmosphere that's perfect for family gatherings and celebrations. It added to the overall enjoyment of our evening. I can't recommend Grand Lux Cafe enough for a memorable dining experience. Whether it's a birthday celebration or any special occasion, this restaurant knows how to deliver a five-star experience. Always delicious and complex flavors. How do they do it with such a varied, extensive menu? Polished service, consistently high quality and dark wood and leather booths make for a special dining experience. We moved to Florida from California and were having sourdough bread withdrawals until we came here 7 years ago. The sourdough bread tasted so wonderful my husband asked where they got it. The answer? They flew the sourdough bread in from La Habra Bakery! (My husband grew up in La Habra, California.) Now whenever we want a real sourdough bread fix we come to Grand Lux Cafe. Our party of four ordered the Seafood Salad, Chicken Royale, Chicken Piccata, Miso Salmon, Apple Pie and Beignets with raspberry, custard and chocolate sauces and hot coffee. The Seafood Salad had ultra fresh, large shrimp atop a bed of crab, plus a chopped salad that stood on its own. My Chicken Piccata sauce was lightly seasoned with lemon and a touch of garlic, wine and parsley. My friend loved the white wine sauce that her Chicken Royale was served on. Her husband said his Miso Salmon wasn’t what he’d expected, but that’s because he orders it at Cheesecake Factory. He found it delicious enough. He asked for and received extra miso sauce on the side. Everything was great. We highly recommend.

Everything went wrong. Subpar food, lack of service, lack of table implements, dirty table, long wait times, no apology, no offer to reseat us. We paid so much money to have a special goodbye dinner with friends and it was a disaster. We were seated outside at a dirty table which the hostess hurriedly wiped. No silverware, no appetizer plates which we asked for and waited too long for. It was 7:30 pm and my friend was starving. She emphasized we needed appetizers out soon. We waited forever and the soup and pot roast cheese fries came out with the meal. Even after we got our food we still didn’t have appetizer plates. We had to get appetizer plates off the other table. No dressing was brought with my husband’s entree salad. Long wait on the bread. Server didn’t know the menu and had to ask whether the bar had certain drinks. When it got dark and we asked them to light the lanterns we were told the manager had to approve turning them on. Then we were told there was no gas. We had to eat by the light of two cell phones. *We we’re also told the manager would need to approve removal of an item from our bill. My friend asked for the manager. The manager never came out. I wonder if he was told. Pot roast fries with cheese: no cheese. Soup: undercooked pasta. Salad: dressing not delivered until much later. Empty water glass: not refilled without a reminder. But the server probably couldn’t see the empty water glass because it was so dark: unreasonable work conditions. Our server disappeared for a long time. The other table said they also felt forgotten. We all sat, tired, waiting for the bill in the dark. One star is for the chicken Madeira and sourdough bread which were good. It’s too bad this place has gone downhill. It used to be our favorite place to celebrate.

Wow did we hit on a fantastic restaurant today while shopping at the Saw Grass Mall. We split the Sunday Supper Pasta. Over a bed of thin spaghetti is this magical gravy/tomato sauce with ground beef, Italian sausage and slow roasted short ribs. The short ribs were to die for! And so much flavor on top of flavor in that sauce!!!! We were ooing and ahhing so much that people around us asked what we were eating! It comes with some nice crusty bread and butter. I also had the avocado wontons with chili sauce as an app. They were delicious. But they give you 7 of them and they are huge! That's a good problem to have, just bring your friends to share.... They have big portions! For dessert we shared the beignets that came with 3 dipping sauces. Chocolate, vanilla creme and raspberry. They were homemade, so I ordered them when our entree came as recommended by our fabulous server, Danielle. She could not have been more attentive or have a better personality. She was Great! Those beignets were off the chart good and there was 6 of them! We think they were better than the ones we had in New Orleans!!! I highly recommend coming here. My husband and I will definitely be back!!!

Went in to eat with my family and my daughter ordered chicken strips and French fries from the kids menu. As soon as she takes a bite of her chicken strip she spit it out on her plate only to find a purple calamari in her breaded chicken strip. Showed it to the waitress and asked if we could see a manager. The manager actually told us with a straight face that the fryer is shared. I asked her if she said did not see an issue with calamari being inside a piece of breaded chicken strip where she again explained that the fryer is shared. She told us she would remove the cost as if that explains how calamari was wrapped inside a chicken strip. The manager left the table a third person dropped off the bill a fourth picked up the bill and then left it at the table. I don’t know if the manager honestly thought that by sharing a fryer, calamari jumped into the chicken strip or felt that instead of saying it was prepared incorrectly that educated humans would believe that ridiculous explanation. What a total disappointment in the response to such a disgusting experience. Saying I will take it off the bill apparently dissolves the mistake altogether.

Food is always amazing here. The service is great, I wish I remembered my servers name, however she was very attentive and brought everything out in perfect timing. We sat outside because it is a little cold inside and this was no problem at all. I am sometimes hesitant to go outside because I don’t want to be forgotten about but that was not the case here. Appetizers were good, the buffalo chicken bites didn’t really have much buffalo flavoring. It was mostly chicken just breaded and fried, still tasted decent and the kids loved them. My fiancé got the ribs, and man… do they fall off the bone.. truly a fabulous dish and the extra side of bbq sauce does just the trick. I always get the shrimp and chicken jambalaya, and it has not steered me wrong yet. Kids got chicken tenders and fries, which were breaded and seasoned perfectly. I wish we had ordered beignets before we left but we will be back before we leave to fly back home. If I could give 10 stars I would. Oh, the strawberry lemonade was 🔥 and my fiancé REALLY enjoyed his lemon drop.
