From the moment you walk in to the moment you walk out, the positive vibrations are felt. A warm welcoming atmosphere. It's a very small sushi spot, seat capacity is 40. The owners greeted us right away with a welcoming smile. I went on a Sunday around 5 so it was nice and empty. For starters I got the Fried Gyoza and Spring Rolls. My girl got the Steamed Gyoza. Very traditional appetizers that didn't disappoint.
They don’t have an extensive drink menu but they definitely have Sake. The Pomegranate Sake was very sweet, almost didn’t taste like wine at all so it was perfect. Call me strange but I took a shot of the Sake and put it in a cup full of Sprite and it was like heaven.
For my Entree I got the Shrimp Tempura and Lobster Tempura Rolls. I know that these are some of the most basic rolls but they were just so good. Just the perfect amount of cream cheese and eel sauce in every bite. Also, the eel sauce that they use is kinda think, it’s almost like honey. My friend got the Spicy Shrimp Tempura and he Shrimp Stalker Roll. The Stalker Roll is really good. And my girl got the Tropical Special Roll. For someone who claims she doesn’t like sushi, my girl ate every bit to my surprise. I believe it was the combination of the tuna, cream cheese and fruit on top.
Last but certainly not least was the dessert. I most definitely got the fried cheesecake. They give you three pieces and three scoops of ice cream. It’s almost too much to consume. I had to share. I like the Tempura batter that they use because it’s light and not to overwhelming. My girl got the donuts and they were just ok. I say just ok because the peanuts that they are served with are almost whole and hey give a drizzle of sweetened condensed milk. Other than that, it’s pretty much a perfect sushi spot that I recommend to everyone.
I will say this final remark. If your are going to order via Postmates, GrubHub etc, then be patient because they get a...
Read moreI really wanted to like this place after reading so many great and consistent reviews. I’m not sure if maybe I caught them on a bad day, but considering we were one of only two 2-top tables, I’m unsure how the food wasn’t as impeccable as the below 5 star reviews claim. The boba tea doesn’t actually bring tapioca pearls, it brings flavor bubbles which don’t actually have any flavor and at least the passion fruit syrup lacked flavor as well. The steamed shrimp shumai was still cold in the center. The three sushi rolls we ordered were good in flavor overall but we literally couldn’t grab the rolls without them falling apart. Even tried with a fork and it was an absolute mess. I would’ve eaten them with my hands BUT the rolls are specialty rolls (The Alaskan Roll, The Ceviche Roll and the Caribbean Roll) and had toppings all over and it wouldn’t just been an even bigger disaster. We accepted defeat and ended up asking for a box and just taking our sushi home in the hopes to finish it, be it messy, but under the privacy of our roof and when we opened the boxes, two of the sushi rolls were entirely deconstructed in a less than 10 min car ride. Very disappointing how they were just thrown together and didn’t hold up shape as sushi typically does. The service was okay, you can tell the server is nice but she noticed that we barely touched our food and just how displeased we were overall and didn’t even comment or ask if anything else could’ve been offered or done to make things better; not one concern as to why her customers seemed unhappy and left in less than 30 minutes with 3 rolls falling apart and barely consumed. Given today’s experience, I would not...
Read moreThe first time I ordered take out from here I had a great experience. I was impressed with the portions and how they packaged the sauces for each dessert. They forgot my order of shumai but I didn’t make a big fuss. I’ve worked in restaurants and know mistakes happen. I just went back for it the next day. They were kind enough to throw in some fried Oreos. Their food was delicious(I’m pregnant and unfortunately there aren’t many things I can tolerate eating) I was excited to order from here again. My second time ordering from here I got the California roll and shrimp tempura roll. Their website said the shrimp tempura roll has eel sauce and the cali roll does not come with a sauce. I made sure there wasn’t anything in the food I ordered that would upset my stomach. I also paid an extra $0.75 each for them to come with extra eel sauce. When I received them they were both covered in spicy mayo and no eel sauce at all. When I called to explain, the guy that answered tried to tell me the Cali roll comes with some spicy mayo(which it does not say at all on the website and it doesn’t explain why my shrimp tempura roll that says it comes with eel sauce had none at all but was covered in spicy mayo). In the end he asked me to bring the rolls back and gave me new ones. It was mostly his attitude that irritated me. He kept cutting me off, tried not to take accountability for the mistake, and made it seem like he was bothered by me for calling and wanting the order corrected and sauce I paid extra for. Don’t know if it was a bad day, but the food wasn’t as...
