Panera Bread — Restaurant in Sunrise

I never leave reviews, in fact this location has wronged me in every way possible to incite one ( also stated in other single star reviews ) late rapid pickup, bad customer service, terrible wait time, etc. But nothing, and I do mean NOTHING compares to the grimey ball of disrespect and attitude that is their employee, Katelyn. If you go on a day she isn’t there, awesome! But if you do, you have my sympathy and the one of those from many of my family and friends. How many times can you be written up? I guess she’s either immune to being written up or has somehow explained her way out of the insanely insolent way she treats not only the customers but also her managers! Which MUST be family or friends who just let her ridiculousness slide by. One tip if you’re reading this Katelyn, if you don’t like your job GET ANOTHER. Today’s lovely display of her attitude was her MANAGER asking her to ring myself and a few other customers up because her manager was busy making a sandwich, to which Katelyn shamelessly replied, “ARRGGHHHHHHH” which was audiable from wherever she happened to be in the back. The people behind me even made a comment about how unprofessional it was. Without needing the mention of people turning their heads seated in the restaurant wondering if it was a response or a cry for help due to something falling on her in the kitchen. All in all, it’s a shame things don’t work the way they did when I worked in retail. If they did. Katelyn would be gone faster than you can say unemployment ! The food is good, however overpriced for the small portions you receive. Service? Ha, when paying at the counter or kiosk they conveniently ask for a tip (why would you tip when you haven’t experienced their service, or should I say “lack of”) They take your order, isn’t that there job if they want you to eat there?!) or you order yourself on the kiosk machine, then they call your name to go pick up your food (I didn’t hear them clear across the restaurant at a table, so after waiting 10 mins I went up to the counter and my food was just sitting there, not sure how long!) Then when your finished they have a place to take your trash and it’s clearly marked where you put your plates and silverware and where to dump your trash or recycle material. I think I should be getting tipped not them! So I ordered the “pick 2” salad and sandwich. The salad was good but small and for under $8 it’s decently priced comparable to other places. However the sandwich was like a sample portion and just under $8 is ridiculous. So the combo “without” a drink for a little over $17, Totally overpriced! Oh and it comes with a baguette. However a little bigger sandwich would have been a better deal and way to expensive for a small sandwich and small salad for $17+. What the heck is the baguette for? by the way is very hard to chew. I just called this place to make a delivery order for a lunch tomorrow. A VERY rude girl answered the phone. It is 11:40am - 8/7/2012 for the Panera Bread on Sunrise Blvd. and I hope her manager sees this comment. She picked up the phone and rushed the greeting first of all (I BELIEVE her name was Hope). I said, "Good morning I'm calling to see if you guys deliver here and if I can get a faxed menu to my office so we can have lunch tomorrow?". She said "hold on" not please hold, not let me check that for you one minute, no, just hold on. After a 15 minute hold she hung up. I called back and I said, "Excuse me I was holding and waiting to see if we could order some lunch". And as she did with the Panera greeting she just said AND I QUOTE "YEAH, we got disconnected what do you want to get?" She was laughing as she picked up the phone again with someone in the background obviously hung up on me because her personal conversation was more important. EWW!! If the service is this disgusting at this branch I refuse to put my company's money to test it on the food as well. I rather drive to the next Panera bread where their quality of service is better.
