I'm starting to feel like this is a hidden gem. Duluth's Best Bread has three locations, and of course you can get some of their goods at some local stores dispersed around the area. This however is one of my favorite locations to go to, one because it's not terribly far away from where I live, but two it has the best parking. Usually, they only have one stuff member, because I think they are still building their Superior following; however, usually whoever is on staff is friendly and pretty quick. They serve coffee in both the drip and specialty variety ( like espresso containing etc ), and they have some signature coffee drinks which are super good. I absolutely love when they have a surprise special something. Like you walk in and surprise to have the apple cinnamon scone and you can't hop up by it because it's amazing. Chocolate chip scone is generally when I go for, but I have not had one thing from them that I do not like. They're onion rosemary bread? If you haven't tried it you need to. Their baguettes are fantastic. Every time I make French onion soup I need a baguette. So yeah I literally if you have not heard of this place or if you have and have hesitated for some bizarre reason you need to go in. Bare minimum get...
Read moreThis was our first visit to this bakery which has 3 locations in the area and it’s the newest one. We were expecting to find French baguettes but they don’t seem to make them. We tried a variety of items: chocolate almond croissant, almond croissant and a Nutella croissant along with plain croissants. We also got the country white bread and the cranberry wild rice bread both of which we haven’t tried yet. The almond and chocolate almond croissants were good not great. For us a little too sweet and flat The big issue we had was with the Nutella croissant. It was so stale and hard and dry we couldn’t eat it. It had to be spit out. It looked fine but clearly it was a day or more old. I’m not sure how much business this new location is getting but there was no one in the store while we were there at 9am on a Wednesday. Still they shouldn’t be selling a croissant for $5.50 that’s inedible / old. We don’t live in the area but when we do return I’d like to get a replacement that’s fresh. We appreciate having a bakery like this in the Duluth area and hope they can focus a bit more on quality...
Read moreLet me start off by saying that the guy playing live music was very talented. That being said, it was completely silent in there minus him playing and he was using a loud speaker so it was a little overwhelming. The barista was whispering maybe as to not talk over the guys music I’m not sure. They didn’t have much of a selection at all for baked goods other than some pop tarts and cinnamon buns. I got a psl and a raspberry pop tart and my friend got a caramel latte. Neither drink had any flavor to it at all which was really weird because we saw the barista add it. I brought mine home and added my own pumpkin creamer to not waste it. When I took out the pastry from the wrapper to break it in half to share with my friend there was a hair coming off of it that wasn’t mine or hers.. the whole experience was really lackluster and disappointing. However! They don’t charge extra for oat milk which is nice. But I can’t overlook everything else that fell short and I won’t...
