3.8 stars let me explain why. Wow it's been 8 years since my last visit here and definitely time for an update. I stopped by for a late lunch date and stepped inside to a furnace. It was so hot inside we almost walked out before ordering. While there were a few fans going it was pretty miserable inside. Not sure if their air is broken or they're trying to lower costs, but man alive fix that. We decided to stay and order a few things that we could take to go a well as eat real fast if necessary. I opted for a fish taco since it was Friday and they are 1.99 on Friday's. I also ordered a grilled shrimp taco off their gourmet side which just means they're normal size not the street taco version. We also ordered rolled tacos and a carne asada burrito and two fountain drinks. We sat down to wait. We went to the fountain drink machine and more than half the drink options said out of order. We found something to drink and waited. Everything came out pretty quick as we were the only ones inside. My tacos were so dang good! My husband enjoyed his food and said the guacamole and such was great. The salsa was super good and the green sauce had a great kick to it. The employee also gave us some chips to snack on. Service was great. Very friendly and efficient. I'd say if it was not so dang hot inside to where it was almost unbearable I'd leave a higher review. I'm on the fence here and I'd say about 3.8 or so. The food and service saved it from a lesser...
Read moreI stopped in there today I bought a gourmet Carne Asada taco, a small shrimp cocktail and a side order of chips and guac. My total came to just over $18. The quality of the meat for the Carne Asada was pretty good. They were generous with the guacamole. The meat was very tender, but I felt I needed to add a little bit of salt. Now the shrimp cocktail, I know they’re not really a Mariscos place, having said that, there was a lot of catchup in that, it was pretty sweet not that many shrimp and they were small, not cut, just small shrimp. I dug out the shrimp and ate it with the avocado and a few tomatoes. I posted a picture of what was left. Just a big huge bowl of chopped up tomatoes, cucumber, and ketchup. It definitely was not worth anywhere near what I paid for it. I would get a taco again, but I would not get a shrimp cocktail. The chips were not fresh. They weren’t great, but they were good. If I was hungry and in in the area, I would stop by again if I wanted Carne Asada, but I wouldn’t go...
Read moreMyself and my significant other both tried the carne asada taco and individually tried the chicken and adobada taco.
The carne asada taco was delicious! I added the green salsa and my SO tried it with the brown(ish) one. The steak was well cooked and the flavor was delicious.
The chicken taco was a bit off in regard to the texture. It was a bit tough and chewy, as if they used low quality chicken or possibly just overcooked it. They add pineapples to it, which I thought was interesting and surprisingly good.
The being said, I was disappointed though not unsurprised by the portions. The tacos are slightly larger than a typical street taco. They are sold a la carte, so you just get the tacos. For four tacos and 2 drinks our total was around $17. My SO left still hungry. To actually have left full our bill would've likely been around $30 for which you can get a lot more food elsewhere.
This place would be good if you are not very hungry or just...
