Loved the Angry Ramen.

This past weekend we at here again. Here is my review and the reason my rating has dropped to a '3'.

This is the 2nd time within a month of eating here. We had a party of 8 this time, and it took a bit to get the tables ready. No big deal. The waitress' name, we'll refer to her as 'J'. We got seated, she took our orders for drinks in short order. Good service so far. I and another fellow ordered a Sapporo on draft.

Here is problem #1: The beer was delivered cool, not cold. I had asked the waitress to ask the bartenders as to what temperature the cooler where the beer kegs are kept, was set at? She returned and said, "the bartenders said it is set where it is supposed to be." I looked at her, with an "and"? expecting a number to divulged. Nada. She didn't offer to pour me another beer, or get a cold bottled one to replace this one that was not cold. Nichts. She brought me an iced pint glass to pour my current beer into it, to make the beer colder. REALLY?

Problem #2: When the check was rung up, she brought it to me, and my son-in-law offered to split it with me. Ok, that's cool. I asked 'J' to split up the check, and her response, "oh, I would have to void out this sale and re-ring it up", with a certain tone of annoyance in her attitude and voice. Ok, I should have probable asked for the manager, but just decided to take care of it on the whole. The was an entry, due to our party size labled, "manual gratuity", otherwise an already included tip. The usual for a party of 6 or more. It wasn't 15% but with her attitude to not go the extra mile and do some simple things, she was not going to get any more out of me!

Now on the Positive Side: the food....was good, very good! At least the kitchen was on top of their game. I did have the Angry Kimchi Ramen which was the bomb! Everyone else's dish was delicious! This is really the only true positive that I can give on this place.

'J' may have been new, a bit overworked, I don't know. Due to her attitude, and no real offers or desire to satisfy the customer, even with a simple question being answered or a check being split even though after the fact, I probably won't go back.

This should not discourage anyone from trying this place. It is good. The selections of meals, sushi, etc are prepared and plated in a very professional manner. Perhaps this was just an off-night for our waitress.

I could have given a 5 for the food, a 3 for the bar & a 2-1/2 for the service (inclusive) given by the waitress. Perhaps I am being a bit...

Husband and I love coming here for happy hour! Great deals! Our 7 year old is obsessed with coming here too, although she sticks to edamame and rice mostly. We have tried a couple of sushi spots within the Surprise area and this is by far the best sushi spot to go to for happy hour. We tried another sushi spot off of Bell to get new scenery and try something different but it costed us $70 for 4 sushi rolls, a side of white rice, and edamame on happy hour! At Uni, we never spend more than $55 for even more food than the other local place we tried. We also tried Tokyo Joes since it had amazing reviews but that is nothing compared to Uni sushi. I was greatly disappointed since it had rest reviews I was expecting more. Needles to say we will be making this our go to sushi spot! Only thing I wish is that they would add more to their happy hour menu like salmon teriyaki or other items besides sushi and appetizers to give us a little more variety and incentive to come back when we are drained of the same happy hour sushi specials.

Don’t forget to ask for the Uni stamp card if you are a sushi lover.

Overall: great place within the immediate...

Keeps getting better and better. Went for dinner. They have a great 2 page sushi, rolls any kind of fish you would want menu which makes a tough decision. You sure could order quite a few and make that your meal or you could go for the menu and try one of their fantastic meals. Lots on their menu, noodles, soups, rice dishes, fish, chicken you name it they make it. All meals come with their miso soup and salad. Nice presentations, good plating good portions. We started with the Tuna sushi and Octopus sushi. You can opt for 2 pieces or 5 pieces.Fantastic, beautiful presentation. Then for dinner we went with the steak and calamari hibachi all perfectly cooked. The calamari was a steak that was cut into pieces. Great grill flavors. Also had the chicken and beef teriyaki. Fantastic sauces. You truly can't go wrong here. They have something for everyone here. Super nice staff. Jacob our server very friendly and explained everything very well. It is located a bit further back off the street in a strip mall. Nice bar area. Nice sushi bar. Booths and tables nicely spaced. It is our favorite in the valley. Nice...

“I recently ordered two fried rice with beef dishes for my wife from Uni Sushi, and our experience was incredibly disappointing. The second order was an absolute disaster - it arrived with barely any beef and vegetables, but completely missing the rice! We decided to call the restaurant to rectify the mistake, as it was clearly their error. To our shock, they not only refused to acknowledge their mistake but also shifted the blame onto us, insisting that we return the food in person for a refund, which would have meant an extra 20 minutes of driving. This is the first time I’ve ever encountered a restaurant that not only botches an order but then has the audacity to blame the customer for their own mistake. The lack of accountability and terrible customer service at Uni Sushi is truly disappointing. It’s evident that they take their customers for granted, and I won’t be returning.”

I was so looking forward to trying this restaurant….and well, I wish I kept the idea of “this looks like a great restaurant” because it wasn’t. The best part was our waitress. We order a tuna poke appetizer which was actually good (hence the two stars) so we were excited for our main entree. The lunch entrees all came with white rice, salad, and soup. The soup was actually decent but the salad was a little lack luster. On to the main dish…my husband had the Katsu (chicken) and I had bulgogi. My husband meal was pretty decent…chicken wasn’t too dry. On the other hand, my bulgogi was so dry that our waitress even brought me two different sauces so maybe I could choke it down. Needless to say, not much was eaten. I don’t think we’ll be back.

We love our sushi. First time for Easter lunch. All was amazing but for the calamari- it was bland, looked like onion rings and needed a special sauce with a little zip. (Nothing to crazy), the oysters tasted dirty, not as good as others we've had, not sure if they were a different type of oyster or what.. But not a fan for these. Other than that... LOVED it!!! Also, not sure if pricing on line has not been updated, but final cost was about $25 more than what was figured. Do you charge for to go orders?? Thanks for making our family lunch great!! We'll be back!!
