đ„ł Worth the read if youâre currently frustrated with how PRICEY itâs gotten here over the years, even for its most LOYAL CLIENTS! đ„ł (TLDR @ the endâAlso avoiding any direct company name drop, aside from Cox, that way Cox canât try and say that Iâm a part of ANY of their competition)
On behalf of my (April, now-passed) extremely strong-willed grandfather, and on behalf of my rather brilliant grandmother (who sparked the idea in me to even check on her internet), and ALL of their lifeâs achievements and successes⊠GOOD RIDDANCE, COX!! đč We want NOTHING to do with this Internet/TV/Cell company. Theyâve been robbing my grandparents blind for YEARS!
Weâd seen a few of Coxâs competitor trucks sporadically throughout the neighborhood, and honestly, we had no clue what they did, but their name made us think electricalâGood choice there! Cox is so âDown-Your-Throatâ with their marketing and availability, itâs absolutely impossible to find companies like that vaguely aforementioned Cox competitor, without an intentional and purposeful search. Especially given that during install, a company-wrapped truck/van isnât what pulled up⊠*It's almost like the other company is a secret! đ Apparently my grandmother (80 years old soon!!) had been paying around $270 a MONTH! For the CRUDDIEST Cox internet on the block imaginable (she paid for 300+ Mbps, but we regularly tested it at under 100 Mbps, even with DIRECT router-to-PC wired connections), with the added bonus of the most BASIC TV news-channel package that you can think of. Absolutely absurd, right? (Thanks, Cox! You knowingly overcharged the hail out of my grandmaâs credit card for yearsâAnd wouldâve kept going, if we hadnât checked it out ourselves!) ~ With this competitor, sheâs only going to pay $95 a month. And it tests at over 11 TIMES FASTER THAN COX! With a direct router-to-PC connection, sheâs got OVER 1100 Mbps, even when playing a movie in the other room. Her laptop shouldnât skip through the entirety of her Zoom call with her friends. And WITHOUT COX, itâll NEVER do that again.
TLDR: Thereâs a monthly budget solution for your internet thatâs already out there, guys. Cox is JUST a marketing ploy!! You donât have to pay $300/mo for an abysmally slow internet speed! *DO THE RESEARCH! Itâs worth it!!!!
~Your Local AZ Resident, who thinks that all big corps currently overcharging the elderly, without a second thought? Shouldnât. Exist.
Edit, due to the sham of a shallow response I got. No, I donât wish to reach out via Twitter, FaceBook, or email. There is no âfixingâ this. You FAILED: Miserably. Read the entirety of this review, and learn from it, as Iâve already said quite plainly and clearly: WE WANT NOTHING TO...
Read more1 star is generous right now. First, when we moved out of our old house and back to NV, we took the router with us (like we do with any router) and called about returning it. Well they told us we didn't need to return it (I think there was a miscommunication and them not understanding that it's no longer at the property). My Fiancé also double checked because it was unusual. Well weeks later we're basically harassed about returning it. Now, tried to get service again...they tried telling us it's required to install Fiber but we are in a rental again and I can't just approve them drilling into the walls. They said there was an override and we can just get normal internet. Came home with the fiber router and plugged it in. It doesn't work. Called customer service and they ran a test, apparently there isn't internet at all to this property. Scheduled a technician to come out, he basically said the previous renters must have took a piece needed (since everyone is going to fiber, they no longer carry the part) and our only option is to install fiber. He wanted me to cancel my work order, call and schedule a new one for fiber and text him the work order # so he can come out and install it today or first thing tomorrow (he was the only positive interaction I had)...so I call and get transfered about 7 times (16 minutes worth of transferring) to just be told that since I'm not the name on the account, can't do anything...don't forget, this has not been an issue this entire time (I have all the information and the pin required) I'm the one who scheduled the first work order. So 16 minutes being transfered back and forth (because I was transfered to the same 3 departments) just to be told to get f_cked. We signed up for internet 5 days ago and I still don't have it but I bet I'm being...
Read moreMy husband went in to turn in a box that we no longer needed. He had also turned 1 in 2 weeks ago and was given a receipt by a girl with no problem. Today's visit was not that great. Troy was the rep who helped him today. Troy refused to give my new husband a receipt because his name was not on my account howehe did go into account details with him and said if we added our 2 landlines to our cell phones we could save $60 a month. My husband informed him that that would be my decision and that he would need to talk with me first. My husband also told him that I was in a wheelchair and not feeling well and that's the reason I could not go in today but he still refused to give my husband a receipt until I went in waited all over again to be called by someone else. Why would you refuse to give a receipt for equipment yet go into account details with someone who's not even on the account that's stupid. I put in a call to the store and I'm waiting on a call back from the store manager and if I don't get one I'm going to be writing a letter to the Cox corporate office because what happened today was just plain wrong. I was asking if I wanted to put my husband on the account and I did let them know that I said no because we're not sure if we're gonna keep our services after today.
Update! We went to Wyrred and the service has been phenomenal, no outages, good customer service and we are saving g almost $100 bucks a month. Best decision we ever made after being with cox over 20 years. Go Wyrred, you won't be...
