I recently paid a visit to the new Panera Bread located next to the Costco in Surprise, AZ, an area that has seen an incredible surge in growth over the past few months. With a slew of new restaurants, shopping, and grocery options popping up, it's become a bustling hub for locals and visitors alike. Unfortunately, my anticipation was met with disappointment, particularly concerning the establishment's cleanliness.
Despite it not being overly busy at the time of my visit, and an apparent abundance of staff on the floor, I was dismayed to find nearly every table dirty. Floors too seemed neglected, which left me questioning the oversight of management. Why weren't employees prompted to ensure a clean and welcoming environment for customers? This oversight on basic cleanliness did take away from the overall experience. It also made me question how clean the kitchen was.
On a more positive note, the food was consistent with what I've come to expect from Panera Bread – okay, but nothing to write home about. It's a reliable option when in a pinch, though not my first choice. Personally, I far prefer the offerings at Wildflower Bread Company for their quality and ambiance, but unfortunately, there isn't one in this vicinity. Speaking of ambiance, there really isn't any at this location, it's pretty sad in fact.
While the convenience and location of this new Panera Bread are ideal, especially with the exciting growth of this area next to Costco, the lack of attention to cleanliness was a letdown. I hope this feedback serves as a constructive nudge for improvement. A cleaner environment would certainly make the dining experience...
Read moreIt is a brand new place. There was adequate parking. There was only a handfull of customers, so you could sit anywhere, except in a booth because there are none. There was no free wifi either. they were out of quiche so we ordered bacon, egg, cheese breakfast sandwiches. we only ordered regular coffee and were not directed to the drink station. When we found it, of course, the coffee was cold. There were only a couple packets of sugar and the half and half carafe contained only a little. There were no stirrers or spoons. When I brought this to the attention of staff, I was told they would take care of it. They did not. After quite some time, the sandiches came, small and cold, on a gigantic plate. My croissant was burned, and dry, with the tiniest egg and bacon you've ever seen. We were never able to get even a nice cup of coffee. After I went a second time to the counter and requested that the coffee station be serviced, they sent sonmeone out who couldnt even reach the items. Plus, he was so slow that if he had moved any slower he'd have been in reverse. It may have been on...
Read moreWe’ve been going to the Panera location on Bell Rd/Litchfield for years, but stopped going there because their quality of service and food went WAY down, and it was a big bummer. If you’d like further details on that you can click on my name and read my review there.
That said, we were super excited to see this location opening nearby and decided to give it a shot today around 4:30 pm (which is a no go at the other location mentioned) and it was GREAT! Fast service and the food was fresh, hot, and exactly what you’d hope for and expect from Panera! I got my favorite which is the half Turkey Bacon Bravo sandwich & Broccoli Cheddar Soup bowl (the pick 2 option)
We are super, super satisfied and will definitely be back— we’re just crossing our fingers that the quality remains intact here. So far,...
