Confusing and unpleasant ordering experience, and food while tasted pretty good, or was not a lot for the price. This review is being left to give feedback to management and ownership to be better.
Their pricing is incorrect in the Google photos menu, you'll have to look at it online on their ordering website. They've raised prices which I understand with the situation these days but then your Google photos should be updated to reflect the new menu and pricing.
When talking on the phone, they said they give only 1 small salsa, even though it comes with chips and the entree itself. I indicated I just need a little more, can I have another little one, and they said it would be $2.75!! They later explained it was 8oz. I went back and forth about just needing a little more, not 8oz. The lady was not clear and it was confusing, but she said the included amount is actually 8oz, and I said "oh! That's fine then, that's plenty" (spoiler: it's not 8oz, it's like 2oz).
When I asked for the total it was more than expected (10.75+tax was expected, they said it's $14something). I asked why, and that's when I found out the pricing difference, but then ALSO...
Kid you not, they charge $0.75 for takeout over the phone (!). I've never heard of that and that is pretty deceptive/shady, and I called it out, but they said that's what they've been told by the manager. But then they don't charge that if you order online on their website...shady.
When I picked up the to-go order, there were no napkins, no utensils, and 1 of the little salsa. I had to ask for each of these to another employee in order to get them.
I feel a lot of little things can be improved to make the experience of the client much better. With the kind of stuff described above, they will suffer and lose clients especially if these changes are recent.
Thank you for reading.
Food was good tasting, but not what I expected in...
Read moreJune 5, 2021 -Owner responded a few days ago, stating that Tex-Mex is different but not terrible. You are wrong!! I am Mexican and American. I cook authentic, homemade enchiladas, from home made chili ancho sauce. Mole, menudo, burritos, caldo de res. etc, I understand that everyone makes food different. But, your restaurant was not even close using Mexican ingredients. Tomato sauce that is made from water? Change the sign, because this is not Mexican at all, and you are insulting us who know what Mexican food is!!! This is just a it's water down American Taco Bell. !! Your probably a bunch of Honduras trying to make Mexican food. Because I been to a another restaurant run saying it was Mexican food, and the owners and people were actually Honduras saying it was Mexican food, and they can't make Mexican food. Also my husband is American, and said it was the worse food ever!! This is not Mexican food. May 28 2021- Well, this place is far from authentic Mexican food. The salsa is terrible! It is probably out of a can. Not homemade. I ordered enchiladas. Well the enchiladas i had were terrible. The corn tortillas was cold and just wet wrapped with tomato sauce, inside the ground beef was terrible, too much salt, no onions or peppers or flavor. It was a can of red sauce. Nothing more. The worse enchiladas i ever had. The taco my husband had was terrible. The flour tortillas were greasy, cold. Nachos chips for dipping was made of the low cost oil. Terrible, too greasy. Nothing special. Do not recommend. Do not go here. The worse Mexican...
Read moreToday we decided to try Monterrey Mexican Grill for the first time. My wife and I ordered the California Burrito and asked the server to have the cook staff please hold the onions. When our food arrived, my first bite of the burrito had onions in it. Opening the tortilla I found more onions. My wife took a bite of her's, the food inside the tortilla was luke warm and she also found onions. We asked the server to return the food to the kitchen and reminded the server we requested no onions. Shortly after taking our plates, the server returned with the same burritos, told us the cook looked and said there was no onions in the burritos and sat the food back down in front of us, expecting us to continue our meal. My wife immediately picked up an onion laying on her plate and asked him to explain how the cook missed this one, not to mention the other onions in her burrito. Rather than debate whether we were going to eat the same meals brought out to us, we spoke with the manager and chose to leave the restaurant. We have never eaten at an establishment that brought the food back and told us to eat it as delivered. Not a good first experience and we would never recommend this...
