We ended up just walking out after having to place our orders (drinks and food) multiple times. The waitress took our drink order and we could already tell she was intoxicated. After more than 20 minutes passed by we still had no drinks but had to flag her down to try and put in food orders. She wrote down our food order, retook our drink order (promising to “make them strong” since she forgot) and walked to the POS terminal. As she was typing it in she apparently couldn’t read her own hand writing and had to come back and ask us again for our food orders. After another 10-15 minutes without our drinks we say something again and she “oh yea the house margaritas” which is not what we ordered and we corrected her and wait again. After another 15 minutes later we decide we’ve had enough and walk out. This whole time the manager has been walking back and forth past us and looking at our table. We even heard him pull the waitress aside multiple times but never bothered to say anything to us. He was fully aware there was a problem and chose to ignore it. When we got up to leave I told him that we were leaving because of the terrible service. He snapped back at me wanting to know why I hadn’t bothered coming to him to say something first. When we turned to just walk away and leave he begins getting aggressive and telling us to “just go ahead and stay and it will be on the house” This was two hours before they are scheduled to close and they definitely weren’t busy. There were a few people at the bar and we were the last table to come in. The manager and servers just kept standing around talking and not doing anything to acknowledge guest. The only employee that was actually doing his job was the host at the front door. He greeted us and sat us right away and was actively doing side work the whole time...
Read moreMy family and I have been to other 3 Dollar Cafe's before but this was our first time at this location. At first everything seemed great about this place. We got seated and the waiter came to get our drink order. He seemed less than pleased to be there which was understandable on a Sunday evening. I thought nothing of it until two Caucasian men came in and were seated kind of close to us. All of the sudden the waiter perked up and grabbed their drinks order only seconds after they had sat down. He ran to get their drinks and dropped them off. Thinking he was going to come back to us I was ready to give him our appetizer order. But I was wrong, first things first he decided it was more important to take the men's order than my family's. My daughter noticed pretty quickly and was less than pleased but we kept going on with our evening. Once we ordered food did get out fast (I had seen they had a fully staffed kitchen which was good) and it was fine. We eventually finished and as I looked over the receipt a 'parties of 6 subject to 18% gratuity tip' fee had been worked into our bill. I stopped by the front desk as I left to find out where that would be posted so customers could be aware before they just had that applied without their knowledge. The lady pointed to a tiny little sentence at the back of the menu that said just that. So, if you are a minority and want less than par service, definitely go here. If you have 6 or more in your party and don't want a choice of giving a tip, this is definitely the place to go. While the waiter tried to make some attitude changes and service changes at the end, it honestly didn't matter. What had been done from the start had already been viewed by my children who verbalized it to me (although I had hoped they...
Read moreThe worst customer service! We dined in about 4 weeks ago and our food and waitress were good enough that we wanted to try again. However, today we ordered take out. As we prepared to eat, I noticed mold on the grilled cheese sandwich. I couldn’t believe that something so simple to prepare was messed up.
My husband took the sandwich back so management was aware of the quality of food they were serving. He explained what happened and was told by the two managers on duty that it wasn’t mold on the bread, but something from the grill. It was furthered explained to the managers that we didn’t feel comfortable feeding our son a sandwich that appeared to have mold on it. The manager even confirmed that he wouldn’t have eaten the sandwich either. Instead of taking accountability for what happened, the manger proceeded to hand my husband $5 cash out of his pocket, and said nothing else needed to be discussed. Not sure why the manager was dismissive about a major concern! After my husband demanded the situation be handled professionally, the manger reversed the charge, which ended up being more than $5. The point definitely wasn’t about the money, but more about the quality of food and customer service shown. This location is new, and has great potential, but management needs to be...
