Tropical Smoothie Cafe — Restaurant in Suwanee

I've been to many Tropical Smoothie Cafes in several states over the years. What I love about it is that you know exactly what the food and drinks will taste like. A new restaurant opened up here in Suwanee and I was thrilled. My first couple of experiences there were fantastic. The only drink I order is off the indulgent menu. It is the Beach Bum. You can get it with either white or dark chocolate mixed in. I prefer the dark while some of my kids like the white. Regardless, it is the yummiest drink (it also only comes in a 24 Oz size so I don't have to pretend I don't want a large.) They now have a new food menu. Their prior menu was fabulous so I knew I'd love whatever was on this new one. I hit the jackpot the first time picking something new. It was the spicy cilantro lime fish flatbread. It has mango salsa and just the right amount every ingredient. If you have taste buds you will love this sandwich. Unfortunately, this particular location has employees that think they know better than what the recipe calls for on the Beach Bum. As I stated earlier I have been to many different locations with exact results every time on both food and drink. Here, not so much. Even when I tell them that the last 3 smoothies were too watery they will continue to add too much water. I know how many pumps of water they should use and 4-5 IS TOO MUCH! It is very frustrating as these smoothies are not cheap. To pay $5 for a 24 Oz drink sucks if it isn't right. I wish I could give this location 5 stars, I would love for them to deserve 5 stars, but they don't. I will continue to go there and hope I'll get the one teenager that will listen to me and make the perfect smoothie to go with that yummy sandwich. Until then I am...

I love this location as it is right by my job and convenient, however the current staff are not as good as the faces Im used to seeing. I don’t go on a daily basis but I go enough to recognize a staff change. However today I had an annoying experience. I ordered via phone on my way so that I could avoid waiting for my food to be prepared as I was running late. I let the girl on the phone know I’m about 5 minutes from them. I get there and notice there were a few other people waiting which is fine. I pay and now I’m waiting for my food to be handed to me. I’m waiting about 10minutes and notice it’s taking longer than I expected. Look up and everyone is refilling things and talking and not even paying attention to me waiting. I’m looking directly at these workers so they can get the hint that i haven’t gotten my food yet. Another 10 minutes goes by before one employee asks if I’ve been helped.... I tell her my meal and of course it’s been sitting on top of a shelf. 20 minutes.....on top of the fact that they did not prepare the kale salad with it so now I’m waiting for that. Smh. I’m a little disappointed as this is the first time I’ve had a problem there. I feel like the younger the staff is getting, the lazier and more relaxed the environment is getting. I have been there twice and both times there was something that made my experience an unsatisfactory one. The first time was at lunch time in a weekday, suddenly, a guy wet in sweat from running/jogging came in to the restaurant and started to help himself; he took a towel, dried all the sweat in his body (from head to toes), ate some food/snacks and the next minute he was attending customers!! That is gross and I believe customers deserve to be served by clean/neat employees, it's a restaurant not a repair shop!! He could have showered before showing up at his work. The second time it was a Saturday, not many people there. I attempted to wash my hands before having my meal and...there was no soap neither the lady's nor the gentleman's room; the containers were filled up with just water and, apparently, the last few drops of soap. I told them about the incident and they gave me a bottle with soap mixed with some water (not much water but still mixed) as I was rinsing my hands, the guy came into the bathroom and changed the bottle for another one with more water. These sandwiches and smoothies aren't cheap, can't the owner afford having only soap for washing the restaurant customer's hands?? I may come back again because the food and smoothies are good but they need to take care of...
