China Wok — Restaurant in Swatara Township

Food was horrible... no flavor to anything! I'm not usually in to doing reviews, but felt the need to do so this time (tired of poor food service).The shrimp fried rice didn't even look, taste or smell like fried rice at all. The vegetable egg foo young was super gross like the eggs were not done all the way! To me, even the shrimp egg rolls were very bland... again, the food just plain didn't have any flavor.

It continues to amaze me how far too many restaurants have raised the prices double and/or triple what prices used to be, yet the service and the quality of food as well as food preparation, has fallen well beyond subpar.

Seems to me, you'd want to make your customers happy, so they'd not only continue patronize your establishment, but that they would talk about how good the food and your service is!

Also, at least "act" like your happy to see every customer that walks through your doors will to spend money in your establishment. And if every establishment continues to have an attitude "take your business elsewhere if not happy with the service" (which I do plan to do)... you may keep losing valuable customers.

Just do "way" better by "all" your...

Finally, after months of trying new Chinese places in the Harrisburg area, we have found a place with good cheap take-out. Called in my order and it was ready to go the minute I got there, and the people behind the counter were friendly and pleasant. The decor lacks a little bit, but who cares? It looks like your standard take-out joint. For food:

Shrimp with broccoli: not as many shrimp as I would've hoped, but this was in a combo meal so you can't expect too much for $7 that also included tasty pork fried rice and an egg roll.

Egg drop soup: standard

Crab rangoon: Yesssssss. We moved from the midwest, where almost every Chinese place makes crab rangoons that look like little 4-pronged crowns. This is the only place in PA that we've found that makes them this way. Many of the other restaurants make these god-awful little pouches of mush. Not here. I shamelessly ate the whole bag (although I'll admit they were a tad greasy). I would go here again, repeatedly, for the crab...

I always get consistent quality from China Wok near Grayson Road in Harrisburg. The phone never rings long before it is answered. The pricing is competitive. Delivery time is usually fast unless they are very busy and they do get alot of business especially for lunch. The one thing about this Chinese food restaurant that makes it better than the others is either the ingredients or the cooks. I am not sure which it is but the food always tastes better than the other restaurants. The General Tso's chicken is always slightly crisp so it doesn't have that chewy taste like other places do. The chicken isn't stringy either. China Wok's food just always tastes better for some reason. I always order from here, every time, period. It is also the ultimate hangover cure. It even cures the common cold! Let China...
