A visit the bakery on Derry Street Stroman Bakery and was very disappointed I made a purchase of some items and was third in line in the checkout and two people in front of me pay cash for their items and then after them I checked out and paid cash also but my cash was scrutinized for 45 seconds for each $20 bills two of them the person checking me out not only held at $20 bills up in the air to look for the the bar that runs through the $20 bill but then use the marker numerous times to make sure that wasn't counterfeit even the people in line seem like this was ridiculous because no one else was treated this way very disappointing it's the last dollar I spend in this Bakery which I've been frequent with over many years. I like the good prices on things like bread, cereal, English muffins, crackers, and on and on. Many times the bread products will have the same sell-by date as the day you are there. Others, like cereal, have earlier dates but if sealed, the are fine and cost half or less than half the price at grocery stores. They don't have every product every time, but since they do not change the lay-out or crowd the aisles with displays, you always know where to look. This is a small family owned business and I love supporting them! They have great grocery discounts. I like to buy my munchies here. I get mini muffins and many other bakery packages for only $1 most of the time. And their chips are usually cheaper than anywhere else you could get them. Around Easter I always buy their eggs from the church with coconut cream--yummy! I seem to run into the dilemma from week to week, I want to drive over on Mondays and they aren't open.
