Where to begin!
So I ordered Mac’n’cheese, boneless wings(mild), buffalo chicken dip, and shrimp Alfredo, which came with garlic bread and a salad(I chose caesar). The salad was a bit too oily for me, and there was practically an entire red onion on it as well. Moving on to the buffalo chicken dip, I opted for the tortilla chips to go with it. It’s a good idea to serve in a tortilla bowl, but maybe not for your delivery orders, as mine was basically disintegrated when I received it. The cheese that was over top of the dip itself was very artificial looking as well. Tortilla chips however, they were spot on. On to the boneless wings, and all I can say is, wow. I ordered mild and I got mild with an attitude! The quality of the wings overall were fantastic. Each and every single one had just the right amount of punch to it to keep the consumer interested. I definitely recommend these wings. Next up I had the Mac’n’cheese, and let me say, I took one bite and that was it unfortunately. The smell was amazing, but the taste, not so much. When I take a bite of something and I can taste dish soap, it’s a bit of a turn off for me. If I hadn’t tasted the soap, the MAC would have been as amazing as the wings. And last but not least is the main event of what I ordered, the entree. I chose to get the shrimp Alfredo, which came with garlic bread. Upon opening my to-go box, I was greeted with shrimp on a skewer, resting on a bed of linguini and Alfredo sauce, which looked a bit dry to my eye. I had a shrimp off the skewer, and was delighted when my taste buds came to life with the different seasonings on each individual one. Unfortunately though, the linguini was nothing to write home about. Although it had the Alfredo sauce on it, it tasted dull and, frankly, boring. The pasta itself was overcooked as well. But hold the phone because the garlic bread needs to be discussed. I will admit I did not have high hopes for it as it was wrapped in newspaper, and reminded me of a sad, flattened half of an Ellio’s pizza. What I tasted and experienced was quite different however. The absolute flavor-bomb that went off in my mouth as I tasted it was phenomenal, and the contrast between the crunchy outer-layer and the soft, moist inner-layer, gave that kind of consistency that just makes you happy as you chew.
Overall, I rate Underdog a total of four stars, because while some aspects of the order could have been better, the overall effect was positive. I highly recommend the wings, tortilla chips, and the garlic bread. Salad, MAC, and linguini are all things that I’m sure will get better...
Read moreIt saddens me to write this review. As a long time patron (pre fire) this is our go to spot. Local business locally owned, that I want to continue to support but after the way we're were treated tonight I don't know if we can return. We often order take out and it was our go to during the pandemic but always had a joke what was be wrong the order upon pick up. I am not exaggerating everytime takeout was ordered it was wrong. The final straw was when it took 3 tries make the correct burger that was ordered. At this point we would just let them know, not asked to be comped, we understood times were hard so we just took a break from take out. We continued to occasionally dine in. That was until recently ,we ordered a take order this past week and two of the items are missing from the order. We had to return back to pick up the additional items. After leaving they said they would be a Credit to the account just give my name and number next order. Fast forward two days later we decide to order from here again. I go in to pick up the order they said they have no record of the Credit. I was then asked to speak to the bartender because she worked the night of the first order and she may remember me I explain that it wasn't me who picked up but my fiancé that picked it up that night I explain that to the bartender and her response was "well didn't you get your food." I said yes we got our food but because we had to come back and get it we were told there would be a credit to the account she said "I don't know why that would happen it doesn't make sense and there's no record of it" she then proceeded to get another staff member who said I can takeoff the mozzarella sticks that were ordered. I chuckled and said to her I canceled those for the order, but graciously accepted and said no problem. Upon returning home The order was not correct. We called back and spoke to the bartender, explained the situation about being comped she fully remembered, we stated that this is happened multiple times with our take-out and her response was "well maybe you should stop ordering from here." As a long time patron this honestly broke my heart, because we want to support a small local businesses and all those employed there. We know times are tough we know people are working hard but there is still a thing called customer service. We gave the restaurant multiple opportunities and honestly would've continued to order From here if someone's poor attitude and customer service didn't affect...
Read moreMy husband and I ordered take out for our family 10/23. We ordered their wings, two salads, and a kids chicken quesadilla. I don't even know where to begin because I've eaten there before and the food was always decent and wings were always good. Between the Tex Mex salad and Cesar salad with chicken added was HORRIBLE.
The chicken was not seasoned at all and tasted as if it was just thrown on the flat grill, steamed with water under a lid. Not to mention my daughter's dinner had the same lack of flavor/seasoning. The wings, one mild tasted like buttery watered down hot sauce while the garlic parm tasted bland. The only thing that had some flavor and taste was the blue cheese dressing.
The service??? What service... my husband called in not once, but, TWICE. The first time he got hung up on and the second time it was so loud they couldn't hear. They have cordless phones so they could walk some where (helpful hint) maybe the kitchen SO THEY CAN HEAR THE ORDERED THEY ARE TAKING. Their personalities greatly lack, customer service is horrible. Needless to say, I had to call in and become a "Karen" due to the red flags from the gate. Should of been a sign to not even give them over 55$ of my money over poor quality food.
I get we are in a pandemic but with how busy this restaurant always is, the owner is clearly not hurting. I am highly disappointed and sadly enough, I will never return to this place. They say, "word of mouth is your best advertisement," and my word of mouth is SAVE YOUR MONEY. IF THE RED FLAGS SHOW BECOME A KAREN AND KEEP IT MOVING. I am beyond...
