For those of you who lived in the general area in the 90s, Murphy's Pub is the former Boylan's Pub. I didn't get to Swoyersville too often due to its distance from me, and that remains true today. The funny thing is that I actually didn't know Murphy's Pub was formerly Boylan's even though I had been there a few times. I'm not a big wing connesieur but do enjoy them on occasion. Several years ago, I searched for wing options and Murphy's Pub caught my attention. I like hot wings, not necessarily the kind where you regret your decision making prowess after eating them, but more so the hot flavor of years gone by. I think what people call hot now are medium of years gone by. I'm not a big fan of sauces that use tomato based products such as ketchup or marinara sauce and like my wings extra crispy and dry with hot sauce on the side. The reason I get them dry is that they stay crispy throughout the meal. The attached image shows six wings with two blue cheese and celery sides, which isn't typical. This was on a Thursday night and whomever cooked the wings did a perfect job. They weren't mushy or overcooked. I've had other food here can't remember what I ordered, so I don't have additional recommendations. I do remember that whatever I had was good, and there were no issues. I visited Murphy's Pub probably 12 - 15 times in the past 2 years (2020 doesn't count) and recommend that you give them a try if you're in the area.

First time here, nice place. We were outside under the tent as the inside was crowded which is a testament to the food, staff and owner. Ordered the Fried Pickles, they were very lightly coated, served fast and hot. Blue Cheese and Bacon Burger was good, served with homemade potato chips. Chicken Cheese steak had large pieces of chicken. Waiter asked if we wanted pepper, onions and mushrooms. You might think think would be standard on a cheese steak but these are additional add-ons at 60cents apiece. Definitely want to try their pizza, we saw many pies being delivered to the tables that looked delicious.

My family and I have ordered here quite a few times and have had hit or misses. For the most part, the food is good. It's so much better when you order in house rather than taking out. I recently ordered loaded nachos and I was very disappointed with what I received. It was pretty much a handful of chips with a small spoonful of dip for $9.. I'm adding a picture for reference. I'm looking forward to changing this opinion and eventually giving them five stars.

The place looks nice, central bar, wood all around, prayers and things on the walls, though the cushion seats could use a revamp, for the price I'd have expected no tears in the covers. Pizza was very well made, could use some more seasonings but the dough was great and the cheese abundant, sauce was sweet enough and nice coverage, very well balanced. The waffle fries where the perfect mix of crisp creamy and flavorful... though the cheese was a little cup of cheese mix on the side, not what I desired nor expected, I thought the cheese would be melted on top, not a sauce mix. The sauces I got to make up for that were amazing, thoroughly delicious, cajun bbq and hot honey mustard, whoa! Perfect mix of sweet, spicy and a mid kick of hot between both! My service dog was allowed in during off peak hours on the conditions she stay calm, not bark, use the loo or bother other customers. They were very accommodating of her bringing multiple cups of water. She really liked the chili I got her! Overall very nice place,...

Murphy's catered an event for me over the weekend.

In addition to the food being ridiculously delicious, the communication, portions, flexibility, service, and price were all outstanding.

The weather was questionable, so I wasn't sure what day the party would happen. Eric gave me assurance and flexibility. He also delivered the food at two separate times per request, provided utensils, set up racks with sternos, and what blew me away the most were the hot boxes that he let us use that kept the additional trays hot. This was HUGE!

When you think of Murphy's Pub,you might think great bar food, great bar for drinks, good people, but I assure you catering is at the top of that list.

I've had multiple establishments over the years cater my parties and I'd have to say Murphy's provided the best combination of value and service that I've experienced. I would 💯 recommend them for any of your party needs and I will certainly be requesting them for future events.

Fantastic job 👏 They knocked it out...
