The food is much better than the typical AmMex restaurant with more complex flavors, better corn tortillas, and really yummy fresh salsas. The place is clean including the bathrooms, although the decor is a little boring. The reason for the 1 star off is that I think this place would have ridiculous wait times if really busy. It was slow with only a few tables filled and we had to wait close to 15 minutes to place our order. During checkout, and although everyone was nice, only 1 person was working the register and getting to go orders. So checkout was about 10 minutes of standing at the register dodging severs bringing food to tables next to the register. We will definitely be going back to this place I am sure because the food is just delicious, but I think the management needs to deal with work flow and shared responsibilities to reduce waiting times. We had Enchildas Mexicanas (5 stars), guacamole salad (2 stars - nothing really wrong, just a lot of lettuce under the guac which was like a salad??), Burrito with pork tips (5 stars - delicious), and all the salsas. I really loved these, and fresh tortilla chips.

So sad to say that one unpleasant experience is gonna keep me from returning to one of my regular weekly destinations but the truth hurts. I posted a picture of what the owner argued with me was a chalupa. However, it looks exactly like the chicken tostada I ordered except without any meat. And it does NOT look like the chalupas I get from the bar or have ordered off their menu before. I also ordered a chicken quesadilla only to receive a plain cheese quesadilla. The owner did tell me the person taking order must have heard me wrong but he did NOT offer to refund the difference or make any of it right. He just continued to tell me I had gotten what I ordered except I am the one that ordered and I know for a fact it was not correct. Morral of story, do not go to colimas expecting to get the food you want or pay for.

Was highly recommended this place. But was soon very disappointed. It was way over crowded the table are so close that your touching elbows with to table next to you, and the table behind you. It's extremely loud, not wheelchair friendly. Our waiter took 15 minutes to come and even get our drink order, and even longer before bringing them back. Once we placed our order it took a good 45 minutes to receive our food. Which was not worth it. After we finished eating we waited over an hour to see our waiter again, to ever receive our check and a to-go box. I ordered Chicken Nachos the chicken was flavorless semi burnt and was rubbery. My mother ordered the Shrimp Fajitas, the shrimp was mushy. Over all just a bad experience. Do not recommend

I second all the 5 star reviews. We were greeted by the owner, one of the nicest people we've ever met. She gave us good recommendations and even made us special salsa picante. She came by to check on us multiple times.Thank you. We were served with warm fresh chips and self serve salsa. The food was delicious, huge portions (the tilapia plate can probably serve 2 people) and reasonable price. None of us could finish our food. We also had some cold beer and horchata. All was delicious. We will definitely come back. Super bonus point: bathrooms are very clean. Love love

Never been to Sylva before, just looking for something to eat otw home from camping in Cherokee. Saw the pics of the buffet on Google and decided to try. Sadly the buffet is closed for another couple of weeks, but the food was good and the service was quick. Portion size was far more than we could handle - overall, on par. I would go back to try the buffet for sure; I've never seen that option at a Mexican restaurant before.

We ordered the steak fajitas and the shrimp quesadilla. My cousin enjoyed his quesadilla, and the chips and salsa tasted great. However, my steak wasn't as flavorful as it should have been. Also, my refried beans and guacamole seemed as though they were made in a blender. I was disappointed by that. I like freshly made guacamole. On a positive note the food came out fast, and our waiter was very friendly.
