Jack the Dipper Ice Cream — Restaurant in Sylva

Unfortunately, I have to second the other reviews about the rude employees at this location. The ice cream is tasty, but not worth the interactions with employees. I had gone with my partner. I had already checked out with my order and was waiting for them when I overheard their interaction. My partner placed their order for a large bowl of strawberry and birthday cake. The young man serving them, Cody, gave them a disgusted look and replied "that's over a pint of ice cream". The store was crowded and my partner had several people behind them, so they were taken aback and unsure how to respond. Cody put their order down on the counter, punched in their total and very abruptly left to serve others. (To an extent, I get that- he was working solo and the store was, like I mentioned, fairly crowded.)

I also work in customer service, and the correct response to judging a customer's order is to keep it to yourself. This is an unacceptable way to treat customers; if there was a store policy in place requiring employees to inform of nutritional value (which I doubt, as this has never come up the dozens of other times we have been here), it could have been delivered without any of...

Just visited Jack the Dipper in Sylva. Online says they are open until 10pm. We arrived at 6:45 to get milkshakes and ice cream cones for my son’s birthday. As we go to order our ice cream, the girl working informed us that we would not be able to get waffle cones because she already cleaned the waffle maker. Confused, I asked her what time they close. She said 7. Ok, my son then switched and said he would order a milkshake only to be informed that she cannot do milkshakes because she already cleaned that machine too. This is so unprofessional and ridiculous. If she was in such a rush to get off work she should have locked the door and not let anymore customers in. GO HERE! If you are anywhere close to this place you absolutely must go. I eat ice cream pretty much every day of the year but this is probably one of the greatest Icecream places that I've ever been to. Get.a.waffle.bowl. oh my gosh it was still warm when I got it. They are hand made batter freshly poured and there are THREE different kinds of flavors that you can choose (regular, cinnamon, chocolate.)
