Honestly, I rarely leave reviews unless the experience is spectacular. This time I am making an exception. My mom and I were in town for her birthday and we had been hearing great things about this place. We get there at 6 pm on a Saturday so they were busy. Building is nice outside and inside. The host takes my name and says it will be 20 to 25 minutes. We were waiting patiently, but at 45 minutes the host says we can't seat you yet because our kitchen is behind due to a cook cutting his finger "the other day". First Im not sure why that was our problem and second why is a cut from the other day affecting us at that moment? An hour later, we were sat at our table. Our server, Melanie, was actually the best part of our experience and is the only reason I gave 2 stars for service. We order apps and then food. Takes 15 minutes for our apps to come out and they were the best part about the meal. Another 30 minutes goes bye, our sweet server kept checking on us and made sure we had plenty to drink, but we noticed everyone that was seated after us was getting their food. She kept saying your food is coming. After 10 more minutes, a guy comes to our table and says, "I'm sorry we had to go across the street and get ingredients for your ravioli and we are cooking it now." 🤯 another 10 minutes goes bye and they bring out my tuna and duck. ANOTHER 10 MINUTES goes bye and they bring out my mom's Ravioli. So over two hours after we walked in the door, we have our food which was very disappointing. Mom's Ravioli was not completely cooked, my sweet potatoes were cold, and my Tuna was very dry. However, the duck was very good! We told the server about the food. She came to us with the bill and I asked her if the manager was coming out. She said she had spoken with two different people about our food and they had nothing to come talk to us about! The manger didn't even think our experience was important enough to come out and talk to us. We paid full price just to get out of there! Needless to say, we will not be going back and I would NOT recommend the...

This restaurant had been recommended to as being one of the best in the area. It had the highest reviews. We arrived at 6 pm and were told there was a 20 to 25 minute At 45 minutes we were told they could not seat us because the kitchen was behind and the hostess had been instructed to seat no one else until the kitchen had a chance to catch up. The hostess stated the cut had cut his finger badly the other day. Not sure what that had to do with our being seated. After an hour we were seated. We ordered appetizers and in about 15 minutes they were served . We ordered the main course . After awhile we noticed others arriving after us had their food. After another hour my daughter’s food was served . She had roasted duck and tuna with swettpotato and okra black eyed pea succotash. She said the roasted duck was delicious but the tuna was too dry to consume. Ten minutes after her food was served I received mine. Prior to my food arriving one of the kitchen personnel came to the table stating they exhausted their ravioli supply so they had to go across the street to purchase ingrediants for my order. When my plate arrived, the food was Luke warm and the ravioli was aldente. It was a very disappointing meal. Our server was very attentive and apologetic for the sorry service we received. She stated she asked two different people, managers I suppose to provide a discount because of the sad food but she was told no. We paid full price of right at 100 dollars for a disgusting meal. Obviously the manager didn’t care about the customer or he/she would have been at our table early on . This restaurant will never serve us again and I would recommend it to NO ONE. I hope this manager is pleased with himself. He ripped a honest customer off. We should have left prior to being seated . This was our poor judgement!!!!! Don’t believe the reviews of this restaurant. They do not take care of their...

Found this place as was recommended by cabin rental company. We love seafood and menu looked good and prices reasonable for what they offer. Arrived early afternoon, after normal lunch rush so restaurant wasn't busy. We asked to be seated outside since it was a beautiful day. We waited just a bit to be seated. Alicia was our server, she started by going over the menu with us which was very helpful. We ordered drinks, which she always kept filled, and then ordered lunch of cups of soup and mains.

I had the clam chowder and hubs had french onion, which was the soup of the day. My chowder was amazing, probably the best I ever had. He liked the soup but the baguette slice with somewhat melted cheese on top was just ok to him.

For mains, I had the seafood platter and he had surf and turf with shrimp. Along with sides, it was a lot of food. I had shrimp, oysters, and calamari all fried. But the fry was very light and not at all greasy. Maple glazed carrots were so good, hubs kept eating them too. I also had fried okra which was good but due to amount of everything thing else something had to be sacrificed and not be finished.

His shrimp, like mine were all large gulf coast shrimp and perfectly cooked. His steak was a bit more "done" than he would have liked but he still said it was tender and good. He also had fries and hush puppies. Fries looked hand cut and were slightly crispy yet not overcooked. And the hush puppies were different than others I have had. When we come back, definitely may order those as an appetizer.

After all that food, and it was a lot, hubs had to have dessert because they had key lime pie. Generous slice with dollop of fresh whipped cream. Yum!

So, TLDR: food is amazing, our server Alicia was amazing, and if you eat lunch there you probably won't eat much...

Boy O'Boy!!! We went to creekside seafood and steak tonight for dinner. Me, my spouse - Sister in-law, her husband (and 2 children). The service was terrible, the food was even worse! We just came to eat here two years ago for my husband's birthday and wow have the prices gone UP. Ok no problem, everything has gone up, right?! So my husband ordered the ribeye steak and lemme tell you about this burnt piece of meat that was so over-cooked, it looked like it'd been sitting there all day waiting for us to order it. I ordered the oysters for $1 each and thought I'd hit the lotto, until they were delivered. The smallest, fishy tasting oysters I've ever had. (Yup I'm from Florida!) I was told the lobster Mac/cheese was to die for... It was so old tasting and dry, I took the dinner home for my dogs. My husbands drink was NOT refilled, not one time! Usually we get an idea of our service based upon how often a server can refill his drink. Not once in 2 hours. Then we get our bill. For two people was $90 with an 18% gratuity included! Included?! Because my sister in-law brought her 2 children, that qualified us for a 6 people dinner where they ADD gratuity! I was shocked, especially since the dinner was so awful and so expensive. My sister in-law, her check for two adults and 2 children was $167 with $27 of that being a tip. Remember, this was with terrible service and terrible food! I'm so disgusted with this restaurant I'll never return unless they choose to reach out and make better the awful service we had to experience. I usually take photos of the wonderful food we eat. I'm sorry Google - it was so awful, I didn't care photograph our awful experience. I once enjoyed this place. Hopefully they can do better in the future 💔💔💔

I used to be proud of this restaurant. It used to be a solid seafood spot with fair prices, but now the menu is shockingly overpriced. Somewhere along the way, they seem to have forgotten where they are—this is Sylva. Not Anaheim, not Miami, not New York. This is a small mountain town, yet their prices are starting to look like they belong in a big city. For example: oysters used to be $19 for a dozen and $11 for a half dozen. Now? $27 for a dozen and $15 for a half. Calamari went from $12 to $14, alligator bites from $14 to $16, and honey-glazed salmon from $25 to $28. These increases are hard to justify. Are they still blaming Covid? It can’t be tariffs—the oysters are from the U.S., not imported from Japan or the Bahamas. And here’s the kicker: for the prices they’re charging, the dining space feels cramped. Tables are barely two feet apart—sometimes closer. There’s zero privacy, and I could clearly hear every conversation happening at the table next to me. So tell me, with food this average, service this inconsistent, and seating this tight… is the price really reasonable? Here’s the reality: Sylva isn’t filled with executives pulling six-figure salaries. It’s made up of hardworking, humble people who used to support this place week after week. We were regulars—almost every weekend. But with the way prices are now, we only come for special occasions, if at all. Honestly, sometimes it feels better to save our money for when we travel, because at least then the quality matches the price tag. It’s disappointing to see what used to feel like a local favorite start charging like a corporate chain. The only positive and remained the same is you can bring your dogs.

My fiancé and I came up to Cherokee for vacation and decided to try this place out and boy were we happy! So happy we actually went twice! The seafood was absolutely stellar, the first time we ordered the peel and eat shrimp, a dozen of the oysters, oysters Rockefeller, and the lobster Mac n cheese along with trying out their drink menu which was fabulous as well! I would say the only thing that we were not huge fans of was the oyster Rockefeller it was a different recipe than what we’ve tried at other places and it just wasn’t our favorite but still delicious! Everything was buttery, and seasoned to perfection! The second time we came we got the oysters and shrimp as before but we tried their ribeye and lobster and it was to DIE FOR!!! The lobster was absolutely decadent and the mashed potatoes and sautéed veggies were delicious! I would say the least impressive part of the meal was the steak which was a little overdone/not super seasoned but all in all it was absolutely amazing! And this is now one of our favorite spots! Melanie was our waitress both times and she was so sweet and took great care of us! The atmosphere was so nice, classy, and cozy! I am willing to bet that we would make the 2 1/2 hour drive just to eat here! 10/10 recommend!
