South of Philly — Restaurant in Sylva

We are new to the area and I am always on the lookout for a good philly steak sub so when I found this place after a Google search and was very eager to give it a try. My wife and I both ordered the origional philly combo with fries. The fries were seasoned and good but I might go for the onion rings next time. The philly was also good. I ordered it standard (onions, peppers and I believe mushrooms) and added banana peppers. The standard amount of meat and toppings you get is a little on the light side compared to other philly's I have had but it was tasty none the less. As far as value goes the sandwich price of 8.99 is just a smidge higher than the average price of 7.50 that I have found in past instances. Again, we are new to this area, as we travel a lot with work, so this may be the average price in the area. My average price is derived from spots in VA, TN, FL, WY and NC. I rated 4 stars due to the value and the amount of stuff between the bread. If either was a little better then I would have given 5. I know it can be done because I found a philly sandwich for 7.99 that was literally the size of a loaf of bread and stuffed full of everything and I could only eat half, barely (Terry's Place in Ocala FL). Visited Sunday, 1-21-2018 at about 1 PM. I had been wanting to try this place out for a while and just recently found it is now open on Sundays. I drove over to Sylva from Waynesville just to try this place out.. I was not at all impressed with this place. Kind of dirty and cold inside, they also got mine and my wife's order wrong. A couple of whole raw meat roasts were just sitting out on the counter which I was kind of worried about that, but maybe they go through it fast enough that it doesn't go bad, but it is raw meat and it wasn't busy. Ok, so now on to the food order. My wife and I both ordered the full Original with the combo, prices seem about on par with other establishments in the area. However, both of our orders were wrong! I ordered onion rings, and she ordered fries, I didn't get onion rings and instead they gave me fries, and I mentioned it to the lady, but never got my order of onion rings. We both ordered without mushrooms.. We both got mushrooms on our steak subs.. Also we had ordered both with cheese wiz, neither came with cheese wiz instead it was a little bit of white cheese of some sort on both of our subs. The flavor of the steak just wasn't there. My note to management. Myself and colleagues at work ordered food from your Tunnel Rd location 2/19/21 Ticket #15. The order was placed at 1125 and received or order at 1230. The endless problems started at that point. The driver wanted payment which was paid in full online. The order had only 2 sandwiches and some cold fries. The order was missing all drinks, chips as well as mac and cheese. Once we verified that order was already paid for the driver had to come back . The driver returned 40 mins later with drinks and chips with still no mac and cheese. At the time of typing this complaint 2:15 pm we have still not received our order. For the cost involved with this I was expecting better food as well as better customer service. I am glad that I did not extend the offer of ordering to the rest of the medical complex.
