Kyoto Ka on Central Avenue is hands down one of the best sushi experiences you’ll find in Toledo. What sets them apart is their use of Grade A sushi, which refers to the highest quality, freshest fish available. For those who may not be familiar, “Grade A” means the fish is handled with the utmost care from catch to plate, ensuring vibrant flavor, perfect texture, and absolute freshness. It’s the gold standard—and once you’ve had it, you’ll immediately notice the difference from what many other local spots may serve.

I started with a warm bowl of vegetable miso soup, which was comforting and perfectly balanced. Then came the highlight: the Rainbow Roll. This roll was truly a journey of flavors, beginning with the delicacy of sea bass and white tuna, gradually building in richness, and finishing with the bold, full-flavored crescendo of salmon and red tuna. Each bite was clean, fresh, and perfectly composed—exactly what you’d expect from true Grade A sushi.

On top of the incredible food, the atmosphere at Kyoto Ka is spot-on. The restaurant feels calm and welcoming, with a modern vibe that makes you want to stay awhile. The acoustics are good so you don't hear everyone's conversations or clinking and clanking of dishes. It’s also immaculately clean—so much so that even the air feels fresh the moment you walk in. That kind of attention to detail in both the environment and the food really...

I usually love going to kyoto ka because their sushi is so good, but tonight the service was terrible. Our server, Stephen, didn't check on our table for 45 mins and we waited for over an hour and a half to get our sushi. When i asked him how much longer for our food he said he didn't know. I then told him that we had put our order in almost an hour ago and I asked if he could check on our order. He proceeded with "I can try". 15 mins later our sushi comes out and it is great but we ate it within 5 mins because of how starving we were. Stephen never apologized for the wait or had warned us that the kitchen was backed up. When we got the check, I was expecting to be given a discount or something to accommodate our long wait but there was nothing. I was very disappointed because i had never experienced this type of service in my life & it disappointed me because I am a server...

First, when we walked into restaurant lady at the front, walked us to our table, put the menus on the table and just walked away from us. Not even saying anything to us. No eggrolls or spring rolls on the menu. No Tito’s. Soup tasted like dish water would taste. Fried rice was white rice with some chunks of carrots and peas thrown into it. Beef teriyaki - beef was well done the other half was raw and with vegetables which was four pieces of broccoli and a whole plate of almost raw onions. The hot shrimp tempura roll was served with cold rice. Very expensive and definitely will never go back. They also got our checks wrong two different times. Also they do not have the option to pay with “tap and pay”. Never should had ventured away from Sakura. Waitress was...

I recently ate here for a graduation and I want to add it was my first time and my last. Our orders were not brought out in the correct order (soup, entree salad, etc.) And the menu was not explained for those who do not normally eat this kind of cuisine. Half way through our “meal” the lights went out with no explanation or apology. And lastly once I received my meal it looked as though they cut my salmon in half and gave me a scoop of vegetables and of course my fried rice came out before my meal so I was given another once my meal came. Not sure why things unfolded the way they did but I experienced enough in one visit to not go back.

My absolute favorite sushi in Toledo! I am so glad that they are open again after the fire last year. Staff and servers are always fast, friendly, and working hard to make your visit great. Food is always excellent! We get carry out a lot (a habit picked up from quarantine), and food is always packed securely and tastes as good as it does when you eat in. My favorite things to get here are agedashi tofu, kanisu salad, vegetable udon, twin shrimp rolls, and yasai rolls. You can’t go wrong with anything though, and don’t forget to round off your meal with some mochi!

First time here. And I loved everything about it. A cute serene setting with careful detail in each aspect. The wait staff was welcoming and helpful and very attentive. Food came out fast and plated expertly. Love is put into the crafting of the sushi rolls and dishes they make. You can tell they take pride in serving quality product. I enjoyed coming here for lunch, I will definitely be back to enjoy the experience and great food! Reccomend to all looking for a good sushi spot to bring friends, family, business partners, or just yourself!
