I just purchased a phone from this location and the customer service I received could not have been worse. I didn't get an explanation as to why they apparently no longer transfer the data from your old phone to your new one, when asked they reply "we don't do that anymore." What exactly am I paying you an "upgrade fee" for on a trade in if not to have you actually service my device. The manager proceeded to say that this was because they got sued before for doing it and it would take hours due to the picture sizes now a days. The guy didn't even take the new phone out of the box to show it to me before telling me I owed $90. I shouldn't have had to ask what the $90 was for it should have been told to me. I shouldn't have to ask how to transfer my data myself, I should be told up front how to do it. After talking about all of this to the store manager and leaving the store I hear the sales guy say "this is such a FUN time of night to be working isn't it?" referring to me being "problematic."
I called the Lambertville store, and even being just a retail seller of Verizon products, she was nicer to me on the phone and more helpful than any of the sales reps, including the manager, were at the Central Avenue store. The Lambertville location will also transfer your data for you and place a call to your phone to ensure that it is working before you leave the store, just like the Verizon stores USED to do.
Very frustrated that I could not leave the store and enjoy my phone but had to spend my evening learning how to transfer my data over and activate the device myself rather than spending my evening with my family to ensure I had a working device for them to contact me on.
I am also a customer service manager myself and would not tolerate my staff members being short and unfriendly to a customer, regardless if that customer was upset or not. An hour later neither issue was fixed and we didn't upgrade, which is not the first time we've had issues here. We explained to him that we didn't want extras, a 3rd line for our child, other devices, or extra services but the quote he came out with after 20 min had a 3rd line, a new watch, and a tablet, plus the enhanced insurance for each device. In total our bill would have been as much as our mortgage payment and he would not listen that we didn't want ANYTHING extra. I gave up after sitting there for an hour with our 3 young kids and took them to the car. My husband was still an extra 15min after i walked out. The awkward small talk felt like he was just trying to butter us up to make a sale rather than listen to what we wanted/ needed. I get that they probably work on commission, but don't waste my time when we tell you exactly what we came for and kindly said no multiple times. Also, finding out they now charge $50 to transfer your info, pictures, etc. from your old phone to the new phone seems extremely greedy.
