0/10 would NOT recommend. My husband and I have been shopping here since 2019. We have gotten some pieces we loved, and recommended many of friends, but we wonât give them another penny and will do our best to make sure no one we know goes here.
Our friends recently bought a cabinet from here and we offered to help them get it back to their house since they didnât have a car big enough. We have a brand new minivan. When my husband helped our friend move the cabinet, the store owner helped get it into the car. He pushed it in before my husband was able to lift it in from the inside of the car. My husband said WAIT WAIT WAIT but he didnât listen. This caused tears in the leather of the folded down seats - one on each side. We took our car to the dealership we bought it from and they said the best course of action was to replace the seat covers, costing $2,100. This was about $750 per seat cover and about $600 of labor. Unfortunately, where the seats were ripped, itâs not an easy fix. My husband has also called various other repair shops, none of who will fix the full problem since the tear extends all the way into the seat. You can literally stick your finger into it and touch the seat frame. When our friend called the shop (at their request after my friend left a poor review of the experience), the owner was rude and insisted the cost to fix was way too high, instead of offering anything to help. Iâm not sure why they even wanted them to call if they werenât going to offer a remedy. The shop owner is not a car expert, so Iâm not sure how he can say the cost is too high. Not is it up to him which method WE prefer for repair to OUR vehicle. We didnât take it to a fancy repair shop, just the dealer we bought it from and that was the cost to return it to the shape it was in before this happened. It sucks that itâs so much but it costs what it costs and should be returned to its original condition as it is a brand new 2024 vehicle. We did explore other repair options, but itâs just not an easy fix. Extremely disappointed that Consign-It was only concerned about a bad review and wants to dust their hands of this like it wasnât their problem. Even if he felt $2k was too much (which again, it costs what it costs and itâs our car, we get to decide what we feel is the preferred method to repair) he could have offered something toward the repair since ultimately it...
Read morePurchased a vintage full size bed frame. The headboard and footboard had unique groves; the included rails were meant to slide into like puzzle pieces. I traveled several cities to Toledo, twice as upon first viewing; the rails were missing. Left my phone number with the owner, and returned when they were found. Once home, it became clear, the rails only fit upside down. Anything placed on the rails would slip off. I got a hold of the owners son 1st, who immediately offered a refund. Only for the owner to contact me and say actually no refund, because- I quote " we cannot sell it. " I love antique shops; however I can't support a business that doesn't honor a basic ethical code. If there were no actual rails; be honest and say so(write so, as it was written on the item), like many other bed frames with just a headboard or missing a part. This wasn't my only purchase, but will be my last. Interigidity is important with building a loyal customer base. The greatest product means nothing if the seller is not up to par. The bad unfortunately outweighs the good, sold me what "they cannot sell" - ...
Read moreWe did not have the best experience with Consign It!. We purchased a $300 cabinet/shelf. A good friend very graciously helped us pick it up with their new 2024 minivan since it has the space. So there was my husband, his friend, and then an individual from the store loading the cabinet into the van. The individual from the store started pushing the cabinet before the other two were lifting, and they had to yell âWAIT WAIT WAITâ for him to stop pushing. When we got home, we discovered that both of the seats now have large slices in them. So, their brand new minivan now has to have the seats replaced. The seat replacement is costing us $2,024.74, on top of the $300 for the cabinet. The cabinet is certainly not $2,400 quality.
I understand mistakes happen, but it is incredibly frustrating that this was avoidable had the individual waited and asked if they were ready for him to push. Consign It! has offered no assistance to pay for the damages, despite it being their fault. We will not be visiting again or recommending anyone to this store. Extremely...
