Sodbuster — Restaurant in Sylvania

We went to Sodbusters on a Wednesday evening (7:30) to hear The Chefs of Dixieland, Ragtime Rick Grafing's band. We expected it to be good music, but it was more. It was an experience, not a performance. We were totally immersed. We felt absolutely transported into another era. At one point, the trombonist sauntered through the cafe as he played ---so fun. We just came by for a couple beers. We got to play some pool and the tables were great. Their draft beers tasted fresh. Frank, the owner, was exceptional. He spent a good amount of time talking to us, knowing we were only her for a couple weeks, and answered a lot of questions about things in the area including where to find a good comedy club and what else is in the area. It was an okay little bar for the price. I only went because my husband purchased a Groupon for us because we wanted to try something new.. I was surprised to see that the bar was empty when we arrived.. we ordered some burgers and the loaded fries. I saw the cook making the food from where we were sitting, he put our loaded fries in the microwave! The burgers were OK.. but frozen and un-seasoned and nothing special.
