The Dallas Taproom is officially open as of Oct. 25, 2023! I stopped in last night to check it out. It's an amazing addition to downtown Sylvania that will help bolster the nightlife on Main St. I've been hoping J & G would expand for the last 25+ years and it finally happened. Thank you Dallas family for being such a staple in the Sylvania community...and now adding to the ambiance of our amazing city!

FOOD: Make sure you check out their delicious food. Dallas Taproom serves J & G food, so come for that same great tastes that Sylvania has loved for decades, including pizza, salads, and more. I've been to over 35 states and 17 countries, and J & G Pizza is truly one-of-a-kind! It is BY FAR my favorite pizza in the world! The beef pizza is my personal favorite.
BEVERAGES: Looking for some refreshing craft beer?! Dallas Taproom has you covered with their 24 taps. You can enjoy your favorite Upside Brewing beverages as well as alcohol delights from other local breweries. Try a variety of drinks with a flight of 8 tastings of whatever is on tap. They have an evolving wide selection from seltzer, sours, and ciders to IPAs, ales, stouts, and more. If you are not a beer fan, no worries, they have wine, liquors, and non-alcoholic drinks as well. Scan the QR Code for a list of drinks or check out one of the two screens that display thr offerings.
EXPANDED HOURS: How many times have you been hungry for J & G Pizza, but it's not 4pm yet?! Well, now you don't have to wait. With expanded hours, you can now get pizza starting at 11am on Wednesday-Sunday. YES...my prayers have been answered!
NEW ENTRANCE: You now enter Dallas Taproom to be seated at either J & G Pizza or Dallas Taproom. Pick-up/carry-out for food is still at the J & G entrance. This should help with flow and overcrowding issues of the past. However, knowing how much we love our J & G Pizza, I'm not sure the overcrowding issue will ever go away.
SEATING OPTIONS: You can choose to sit in the nostalgic 1970s J & G side, modern new taproom, or outdoor patio. In the Dallas Taproom, you can belly up to the bar on one of the dozen chairs, sit at one of the high-top or low-top tables, or warm up on the cozy couch and chairs by the indoor fireplace. There are two TVs for watching sports, but I hope they expand viewing options in the future because this would be a cozy place to watch multiple games at the same time.
The outdoor patio offers well-lit, covered seating options at the small tables or long u-shaped wooden bench. This will be a popular hangout on nice nights and even cool evenings when they eventually put in heaters (which they probably won't have this year).
BATHROOMS: There is a new large one-person unisex bathroom in Dallas Taproom in addition to the small men and women's bathrooms in the J & G side.
AMBIANCE: I love the look of the Dallas Taproom. The exposed red brick, tin ceiling, and hanging light bulbs give it a modern look that pays homage to the past. They even put up an old, lit-up J & G menu on the wall to bring in some old-school flare. The space is well utilized with different seating options throughout.
SUMMARY: You must check out this new venue for yourself! It great for socializing with friends new and old. Raise a toast to the Dallas family for bringing us this fine new Sylvania...
Read moreWe wanted to go to a brewery not far from home last night and Dallas Taproom came up along with some others. We thought we’d try some place different so Dallas Taproom was the pick. We walk in and first thought was “oh this is nice”. We noticed a group with kids to the right of the door and some kids all the way in the back so next thought “good, they are kid friendly”. A young lady approached us and said that she’d find one of the hostesses. Ok. A few minutes later a different young lady approached us and asked how many…2. She asked us to follow her. We were walking towards the back and she didn’t stop at any of the open tables then turned towards right. We started walking down a ramp then BAM….a completely different type of room and not the “taproom” atmosphere. The vibe and look was definitely not the same. Was completely caught off guard. That was not what we went there for. I’m not sure why we were sat in a completely different room that was in the pizza part. They could have asked us if we wanted to sit in the pizza parlor and we would have said no. I did not ask why because I didn’t want to risk bad service. I’m sorry but if someone walks into a “taproom” you don’t just lead them somewhere completely different. We thought about leaving and going across the street and even more so after seeing the lack of drinks. We will not be going back and will not recommend Dallas...
Read moreShowed up on a Saturday night about 7pm and sat at the bar. Took about 10 minutes for one of the two bartenders to acknowledge us. Proceeded to order some drinks and order a pizza. Was told “pizzas are about an hour out.” No problem. Pizza came and it had no cheese, so they remade it and the one bartenders said “should be 15 minutes.” 30 minutes later our pizza showed up and was not cut like we asked both bartenders. Whatever, it’s 930pm and we are hungry. Both bartenders proceeded to talk shit about us, albeit about 4 feet away from us like we couldn’t hear them. They then proceeded to ask the customers on either side of us if they needed anything and ignored us for the rest the night. Had to ask for the bill too. Unprofessionalism between these two “bartenders” is an...
